My JCP has been undergoing a renovation over the past year or more.
There is a small Sephora in there and they have moved a lot of the departments around.
I went in there yesterday to look at/order new prescription glasses and they were setting up a new area in the back where some furniture used to be.
I asked the eyeglass tech what was going in there and she told me they were putting appliances in there!
I remember many years ago that JCP had an appliance section as well as an auto/tire repair.
There is a new HH Gregg store in the same mall so it is surprising that JCP has decided to go back to stock they stopped carrying so many years ago!
Did you ever buy appliances from JCP back in the day?
They always had a nice selection of furniture, too!

I've been purchasing appliances (fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer)
from Penny's for past 30 years ... all Kenmore, love the line.

I was surprised that after an absence of 20-30 years, that JCP would start selling appliances again.
After all, in the same mall, Sears sells their Kenmore branded appliances.
They will be in competition with Sears and HH Gregg.

I don't remember our Penney's selling appliances but they may have years and years ago when I was young and I just don't remember.
Our area Penney's has been undergoing a lot of revamping also with a Sephora going in and the store getting a major overhaul. I was there a couple of weeks ago and didn't notice appliances but maybe they're coming.
I've always liked Penney's and when there were rumors of them maybe closing, I was very concerned. But it seems they are out of danger of that now if they're doing all of these renovations and adding appliances at many of their stores.

I don't remember Penneys selling appliances, but I think that I once saw an appliance of some kind with a Penney brand label/nameplate on it. Can't remember what is was, but a washer, dryer, fridge or something big I think.

Isn't that Sears? Or can you get Kenmore elsewhere?
@Mominohio ~ oh brother, you're right! How did I transpose Sears for Penny's! I'm doing a lot of that these days...

I bought end tables and a coffee table from JCP when I got married in 1969 and I still have them. They still look perfect. I would like a newer look but, honestly, I can't find any excuse to get rid of them.

I thought JCP was not doing well but a friend of mine works at one at a local mall and she says they are always busy. Not crowded but a good steady flow of buyers. She works in home goods - you know, small appliances and dishes and such, She also said the trend seems to be returning toward curtains instead of blinds. She said people complain blinds don't stay clean and can't be washed like curtains.
