I Need to Shake it Up with Paint!

[ Edited ]

My bedroom is painted SW Dover White. It was previously a "color" and wanted a clean palate.

Well, it is boring and I am tired of looking at it. When I saw the new BM color of the year called Shadow, I was inspired!

It is a dusty purple shade and looks elegant and beautiful. SW also has a featured color called Autumn Orchid that is lighter. I like the other colors on the color chip.

So, I am off to the paint stores for a sample and off to JCP to buy new curtains for my bedroom. I like it dark and cave-like so this should be fun!

What do you think of Shadow? It is quite the opposite of last year's Color of the Year--White!

All that matters is that you like it.  It sounds like a nice color for a bedroom.

I  like bright and sunny rooms so your palate is not my taste but I hope you like it.

It's funny that you have Dover White. My brother buys houses & remodels them & he paints every room, in every house Dover White. It's a very pretty "white".

Anyway I love Shadow. That could make a beautiful room. Update us & let us know what color you decide on & what curtains/bedspread you are doing with it.

It's beautiful. It would make a nice accent wall if it's too dark for all over.

That is a really pretty color. I agree it would look gorgeous as a accent wall. Maybe the wall behind your bed.

My son and his wife painted their formal dining room in Shadow..  that room gets a lot of light and the color is beautiful.

They have light gray accents in the room and the colors look well together.

I love Shadow but would be hesitant to paint the entire room that color.  I do think the wall behind the bed would be very pretty with other walls painted a nice shade of grey.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I think the Shadow would be beautiful as an accent wall and then I would do the other walls in a very soft light grey.

Our house is in Dover White.  It goes great with my primitive antiques.  I have color in my upholstery and acessories.  Also some paper, and real plank paneling, so I don't need colored walls.
