Re: I Need to Shake it Up with Paint!

I agree that the entire room would be too much. The wall behind my bed is large and would be perfect for an accent wall.

Maybe the same color taken down to 50 or 25% would work for the other walls.

I will gather some samples and see what appeals to me. It just struck me as so dramatic and interesting!

I did buy some midnight purple curtains at JCP. They are blackout panels with grommets.

For now, it will remain plain Dover White!

I see Alberi repainted his dining room in SW Seal (or Sealskin) which is a dark grey.

It looks fantastic with his decor and very up to date.

I love Alberti's dining room - it's gorgeous.

I love the OP's choice too.  It's a very chic color.

Re: I Need to Shake it Up with Paint!

I stopped at the BM store today to see Shadow in person.

Wow! It is really, really dark! It is much darker on the chip than it is on the website. The colors next to it were almost black!

I picked up some paint cards and left without a sample. I have to wait until the curtains I ordered come in so I can use that to coordinate the colors.

So, the search continues. Next stop is SW!

Re: I Need to Shake it Up with Paint!

Funny you mention B.M. in shadow, I'm painting my kitchen in B.M. Moon Shadow, which is a light green with blue undertones and it's beautiful, gives the room warmth, love B.M. paints. My family room is Alpaca which is soothing against the rich browns of leather chairs and a dark sage couch, accenting with touches of red throughout my pictures on the walls and a potted faux plant in red. Have Smokey Taupe in my main bathroom very warm. I was never into color, now, I can't live without it.
