Why dust empty memories?

I have one really pretty vintage frame that I've used on its own but not often, and overall, I don't see the point in hanging an empty frame. To me, another somewhat silly trend I can do without.

I tried this look on a wall awhile back...
It probably took me longer to arrange the frames to my liking
than they were actually on the wall ... decided that look just wasn’t for me.

I have only seen that in magazines and I think it's "editorial" ; I've never seen anyone do that empty frame thing in a real life. A frame is meant to frame something so if I saw it, I would assume the person is looking for something perfect to frame. Leaning agains the wall, again is an editorial think for a magazine. Although, I do have a large mirror leaning against the wall in my condo. On the floor, leaning against a wall, it's my full length mirror. I get to see my entire body.

Interesting question. But they just hold empty space. There are no memories in them. Why dust something that holds....nothing? And, yes. I am totally overthinking it...LOL
