By special request from @OfCourse, here are a few "dream cottages."    These are also from Pinterest.  (I, too, hesitated in signing on to Pinterest the first time but found it was worth it in the end.  There is just so much beauty that people have shared.)

Stone and Timber Cottage, Carmel, CA (dreaming of moving there)Saluda River Club - Collection of Homes - Columbia, SC @Megan Ruhlman I found it! Called The Elloree houseplan on Saluda River Club. Lots of pictures!Color scheme. @GingerPeach  Thanks a million!  Gorgeous!  If I won a big lottery (rarely play) I would have something like one of these with another cottage on the property for visitors.  One can dream!  I don't like really big houses for myself.

Hi @GingerPeach.... thanks for sharing.   My favorite is the second one.  But also like the two below it.  My least favorite is the first one.

I completely agree with you as to preferring a smaller house for myself, @OfCourse

I find myself looking at cottage homes all the time!

The last one looks like it could be in the Celebration development in Orlando.

I love to see paths, country paths, especially in the fall!!

I love Marinas, porches, especially those little ones that are also little tea rooms.

Love the mountain pictures with lakes

That sort of thing!!!

@Boehm Collector

Now that I've reviewed them again, I can truthfully say I agree with the order of your lineup!

The cottages indeed are beautiful, but too sterile and perfect for my taste. I prefer something that looks lived in, in a natural landscape setting.

@qualitygal, I'm all about tree-lined paths, especially in the fall, but all year round, too.

This is my dream... A tree lined driveway leading to a beautiful field stone house sitting on a lake

I'm flipping over that last one. Love it! Of course all the other ones are nice, too. But I must say I don't think I will ever be a big fan of metal roofs...especially in vivid blue.
