I am in an upstairs apartment, and no other building is near enough to see in unless I have a light on and am standing right in front of a window.  My bedroom drapes are usually closed, but I leave the other rooms open most of the time.

My dining table is right in front of a big slider door that opens to a little balcony.  If I am at the table on the laptop at night, I will pull that curtain.

Plantation shutters throughout and I don't open them day or night. I might flip a shutter or two during the winter but in summer they are closed 24/7. Gotta keep the heat out plus I don't want looky loos snooping.

Closed through I don't have coverings on part of the back of the house where we have French doors because we have woods and no neighbors and it's not practical.

I'm set back from the road, my house is also at a high elevation.   My basement is ground level so my main living floor would be considered the 2nd floor.   I don't fool with opening or closing anything on that side of the house.

I have French doors in the back, facing a somewhat wooded area.  I do close those drapes at night.   If there are any shenanigans going on at night, it's usually at the back side of homes.

Our living, dining, and sunroom don’t have drapes - only shades or blinds. The hades in our living & dining room are left up 1/4 of the way all the time. Blinds in the sunroom are always partially open. Our bedrooms have curtains tied back with shades kept down all the time unless I open them for fresh air if it’s cool.

I do not have drapes on my windows, but I do have shades. The shades are up on all windows except to the front of the house where my concern is sun light fading my furniture.

My home is in a very private area. There is no one who can see into my home from anywhere. In my previous home where I had neighbors closer, I had shades up/open during the day, but closed at night.

I hate the house being closed up period.  We only close the blinds in rooms where were sleeping and the bathroom (because it faces the street.  Most of our living area is in the back of the house so not much for anyone to see anyhow.  But as soon as we're up and dressed everything open again, year round.  Even the inside frontdoor, the more sunlight the better.

Plantation shutters throughout the house are closed at night. Always.

 Me too.

I live in a townhouse and we have very little space between rows, so people can read my recipe while I'm making dinner if mine are open.  LOL

@Sooner

Similar house layout to yours!

Plantation shutters in the 2 front guest rooms only. They are never closed unless we have overnight guests!

No other windows have any coverings at all.  LOVE the sun, want every ray I can get.

No one can see in....no neighbors on either side. (2.6 acres).  Like Sooner, the nieghbors behind don't face into our yard.

My mom & gram turned the house into a cave come 5 pm no matter what.

It took me a while to get used to the look of 'uncovered' windows.  My other 2 houses had sheers and curtains and sometimes valances on every window.

We designed this house and it is modern.  The entire back of the house is all windows and large ones.  I decided to go with a 'clean' look.

If a neighbor or passer-by can look into a window at night, I always draw the shade. At Christmas I will leave the window exposed if I have a tree staged in front of it.
