They are all lovely!  I do not like islands in kitchens but prefer dining table and chairs.  I am much more comfortable sitting at a table.  I like number four kitchen especially, very appealing. However, each one will do for me!!!!!

I really like pic 1, but I'd prefer black lower cabinets.  I don't think the gray contrasts  very good.

Re: Dine In Kitchens

[ Edited ]

The house my Dad's parents lived in had no dining room so the table they/we always sat at for every meal was in the kitchen. No their kitchen was not that big either but we all fit around the table. Their house was really so small but no one complained when we were all there.

The house my mom's mother owned I think was actually owned by G'Mom's son & his wife. The kitchen was HUGE and yes the table & chairs was in their kitchen.

I suspect homes back in the 1950s-60s were just built that way ie no dining rooms, this is what I've found.

I like almost all of the kitchens with the exception of the last with all the blue cabinets.  I would tire of the blue cabinets quickly.  What's with all that junk on the ledge above?

The more I see these kitchens the less I like them.  I don't mind a table in the kitchen but not where an island would be.  I find an island more useful.

#2 and #3 have support braces at the bottom of the end of the table.  If you get stuck in that seat, just where are you supposed to put your feet?

 #1 & 4 are my favorites.

We had a traditional table and chairs in the small kitchen in my childhood home. Space was tight, but we always managed. We used the kitchen table for lots of things other than eating. Over 50 years later, I’ve never had an island in any kitchen, and I have survived.

I really like all posted...I can't pick a favorite. I know open shelving is not the most practical but I do like the way it looks.
