Whatever is on sale. I'm about to try Persil from WalMart. They have coupons online.

- I use Persil on bed clothes and all of my clothes. My hubby has sensitive skin, so I use Tide Free & Gentle on his stuff. I used to use Tide Pods, but felt like I was running through them so fast. I usually wash 2-3 loads a day. I really loved them for their ease of use, but I felt like I was spending more than when I just bought the liquid.

- Tigriss - I hope you like Persil. We didn't know anything about it when they started showing all of the commercials. When we went to Walmart, there was a lady we knew who was at a display booth w/a stack of coupons for it. She told us that Military folks are familiar w/it bc it originated in Germany and they used it when they were stationed over there. Since she was giving coupons, we bought a small bottle of the reg. scent. It cleans very well and its a keeper in our house! It smells so good! When we finish off the Tide, we'll go back and get a bottle of Persil Sensitive. It looks as if they only sell that version in the large bottles, so I'm glad we picked up several coupons. Come back and report how you like it! Smile

I love Persil!! It smells so good and cleans really well. I still use Gain and Tide as I had a large quantity on hand, but I think Persil beats them both.

Some stains just don't come out. I think the secret of treating stain is to act right away.

The best stain remover I have found is Zout. Then to soak overnight w/ detergent and Borax.

Why would I do that? I use the same liquid detergent for everything, with pre-wash spot-cleaner where needed and a fabric softener sheet in the dryer. Done.

The best prewash spot remover I've found is Clorox II liquid, straight out of the bottle. Squirt a little on the stain, gently work in with an old toothbrush, and wash the garment as usual. Works just about every time, on just about all kinds of stains.

I bought the large bottle of Persil at WalMart yesterday with a $5 off coupon. I am doing my sheets and quilt today. The whole house has a nice clean smell. I have a standard washing machine and dryer and fill it to the first line. It is lovely!

I've been using mostly the Purex brand one for years. Seems fine to me. I use the unscented one for everything for me, the dog, and the bird. I use the lightly scented one for the husband's stuff because it doesn't bother him and he likes it.

One I simply cannot use is Tide. That makes me physically ill. Even if I go in somebody's house who uses Tide I get sick within a few minutes.

But the bottom line is - use whatever YOU like. Choices are good. Smiley Happy

I'm with you, chickenbutt. I typically use Purex or Gain. I am allergic to Tide. And I'm not allergic to anything else in this whole, wide world!

Tide is one of the strongest detergents you can buy. Most people know that. Maybe they've changed it but it used to be very strong.

I just use the inexpenisve one because I live alone and only have my clothes on long enough to go out. The minute I come back home I walk into the bedroom and change my clothes. They don't get very dirty.

Dreft, Ivory Snow or Woolite for nearly everything. I used to use All free & clear, but I've developed an allergy to phosphates. I also had to give up all fabric softener including dryer sheets.
