I use Tide free and clear pods for everything. they are a bit more expensive but worth it to me for the convenience.

I usually buy Tandil h/e at Aldi. Very effective and good price. Right now I have on hand Tide bought on sale and the new CVS house brand bought when it was launched at BOGO free.

I usually wash in cold water, and have found with the hard water in my area that the low cost brands do not clean as well. Wish they did!

I'm with Chickenbutt, the purex brand has a large selection and great sale prices. Tide , is over rated in my opinion and after using it seemed really tough on clothes. Tide seems to be one of those love it or hate it items! Great discussion ,lots of choices! Maryanne

I buy whatever large jug is on sale in Costco. Am currently using the Kirkland brand but also have used All or Arm & Hammer. They are all the same to me. I'm not concerned with fragrances, they don't bother me.

I get my detergent at the Dollar Tree also their cold water detergent brand. Our clothes look clean and smell good. I really think it has to do how often you launder pieces and not detergent brand.

I have been using Persil since WalMart started carrying it. It's fantastic. I know it's a little more expensive, but the results are wonderful. It's also quite concentrated, so I use less. They have sensitive for those who need it.

If you have stains, the key is getting a detergent that has "enzymes".

I am using Arm and Hammer right now, and then I add borax if needed. Borax boosts the effectiveness of the detergent.

I too use persil. prior to that I was a tide user. I saw this in wal mart and thought I would give it a try.

my "test" was a khaki pair of my sons' pants that he had stained a month and a half prior with transmission fluid and grease from a 72 pickup. they had been washed and dried several times in tide. when they came out of the dryer ALL the stains were gone. its all I use now,but

when my budget is tight I use arm and hammer.
