Re: Decorating a 'Friends Room'

I can see friends sitting around in these rooms.  1, 3 and 4 are my favorites.

Re: Decorating a 'Friends Room'

I love all of these rooms and would be happy to have any one of them in my home.  It's hard to pick a favorite but I think #3 has a slight edge.  Love the large ottoman.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  Enjoy ...

I think the difference is that the chairs face one another and all seating doesn't aim you towards a TV.

I don't watch sports or news or even movies when I have friends over.  My husband does so that's how our living room is set up.

I do have a sitting room/reading nook with no TV and then there's the back deck.

I think it's necessary to have a cocktail or end table for a glass or to set a plate down.  It's also very nice to have comfortable seating and even a place to put your feet up.

Not sure what a friend’s room is either. I don’t see a need for a friend’s room. A place to sit, relax, and talk with friends could be a living room, family room, or other sitting area in your house.

I like these 2 rooms most...

I actually like all of the rooms, except for the very last one! The 1st 3 are very open and airy looking and yet seem very inviting! The 4th and 5 th rooms appear to be a bit bigger, but still very inviting!

Re: Decorating a 'Friends Room'

I only care for the first one but even then I'd have to do some changing out of some of the accessories, paint, etc. as it's a little too "light and airy" for me.

Re: Decorating a 'Friends Room'

I can't wrap my head around the idea of a Friends Room.  If you have a living room and a family room why do you need another room in which to entertain friends.  Isn't that what the living room is for?  The rooms pictured look like living rooms and family rooms to me.
