Here's my oddball assortment of thing I got rid of.

• Small appliance manuals for things I no longer have
• Costume jewelry from "stars" that sold on QVC
• Books (poetry, cookbooks, home organization)
• Cooling towel that didn't cool
• Big decorative pilgrims bought when the kids were 7 and 10
• Cracked Mikasa mugs, saucers, and dessert plates that were a wedding gift

Wanted to mention something I found in the book "Clutter's Last Stand" I bought it in 1984, and knew it was time to get rid of when the author mentioned new cars costing $9000!

Anyway, the author had some points to ponder. He said something is not junk if it:

• Generates good feelings
• Helps you make a living
• Will do something you need done
• Has significant cash value
• Gives you more than it takes
• Will enrich or delight the coming generation

That 9k is funny...yes, m'am, that means it goes back about 35 years! or more...because I recall my dad/mom's Corolla from the 80's costing about 9k. 

Those points to ponder and discern value of things are good ones. I particularly like "Gives you more than it takes"...gave me food for thought on some things. Some things cost to upkeep/hold onto, or effort to store away to take out only once a year etc.

Made the church donation drop-off this past week, 5 pieces.

Have one item I hesitated on in the trunk of my car, that will live there, as I may have other donations to add to it.

Took out & tried on 2 brand new dresses I bought almost 2 years ago, on sale in a small boutique when we went away overnight. Tags still on them, never worn. Both are long, flowing, bohemian silky dresses, one print, one solid. I thought were "me", and might be good for holidays. I've since bought other things that truly are more me, more flattering, nicer for holidays or any event. 

I rarely find myself saying this, because I'm a careful, thoughtful wardrobe curator/shopper...but I tried these on the other day and said "what was I thinking?!"

Not really much "me." Overwhelmingly long, like to my ankles, and I'm only 5'1". (Thought they'd look good with some high heeled black boots this time of year, to balance the long length.) First of all, took out my old high heeled black boots last year, and they look fine, but not the most sturdy heels and I'd like to replace them with something more updated and comfortable. 

And the dresses just did not flatter me, in that they just didn't do much for me, and overwhelmed me.

So, I think I'll call consignment again this week, see if they want these, and bring that turquoise bracelet she said she'd look at too. Since it's close to my last drop off, my payment timeframe window will be the same for everything.

I'm toying with some older decorative pillows I used as recently as last year, but I think that might have been my "last stand" with them. I'm just getting a tad sick of some things I've had forever. I mean how long will I be living...you gotta change it up at some point, right?!

Anyhoo...I have newer winter, summer, and some holiday decorative pillows for both bedroom & living room I switch out...these others are excess. So they may be going this week too. I've vascilated on them for about 2 yrs now! 

("Cottage core" is back in fashion, (never was out in my home) and that's what these are...I'm just sick of the same ole same ole around.)

Everyone's making good progress. Some people only post now and again, but when you do, you have a "list" of stuff gone. Always inspires me.

I have started boxing up some things for a garage sale in the spring..IF my neighbor will do one as well.

I have sold a few things on Marketplace...bigger items, it's the small things I want to get rid of and that seem harder to sell on facebook.

I haven't really been doing any decluttering recently, since I worked on the mudroom a few weeks ago. I am definitely in a holding pattern. 

Hubby did toss an old t-shirt.

My son has taken a few things recently, a couple of pans, a guitar and some guitar books, a couple of small appliances. 

It looks like everyone else is doing really well though, I am so enjoying reading everyone's posts.

I had roman shades nice fabric...was able get rid of them on BuyNothing

same with some artwork that no longer serves

consider free cycle or buynothing if you can make a sale

I sell as much as possible on ebay but buy nothing is easy

My children are adults but I have saved a lot of their toys for two reasons. One I am a speech pathologist and I used the toys for my therapy sessions. Two I was saving them for future grandchidlren.  Well, my current job which is the job I plan on having until I retire does not involve doing therapy and both my girls do not want to have children. So there is no need to keep all these toys.  

At the beginning of last year I offered a lot of my toys to my fellow speech pathologists as well as the teachers in our district's preschool program.   

This Christmas I am donating more of the toys to families in need who attend our district preschool program.  

I will still have quite a few toys left.  Some I am keeping some in case I ever do therapy again and the rest I will again offer to my fellow speech pathologists and teachers in the preschool program.  If I have toys left after that I may save the nicer toys for next year's needy families at Christmas or donate to Goodwill.

Your Sunday morning final update on the Christmas ornaments I'd taken to consignment.

The owner had divided them into 7 lots.  She put them on her online site.  Then she showed them during a Facebook live video.

3 lots sold from the video, a few hours after she did it.

1 lot sold after that.

She showed them again yesterday and 2 lots sold during the video.

That leaves 1 lot of 2 ornaments. I knew they would be difficult to sell.  They are both shaped like eggs and one is dated so that's difficult.

She texted me yesterday afternoon that I can come pick up the final lot.  She leaves her videos up for 2 days so since they're closed on Sundays, I'll go down there tomorrow. Who knows, maybe someone will see the video and buy the last lot today.

Bittersweet on this one.  So thrilled and thankful for her efforts to sell them for me.   It also is a little emotional as that chapter of my life has closed and while they are so pretty I just don't need them anymore and don't want to just hang on to them.  I was in her store a few days ago and stopped the employee who had done all the photography on them and had done a short preview video to put on Facebook. I thanked her for her help showcasing them.
