@BunSnoop - You are braver than me! I don't think I would feel comfortable getting on a ladder and pulling down Rubbermaid bins. Maybe if I had a nice ladder like you describe but I don't know. You are one tough cookie!
I'm glad your brother called to check in on you, even if he had to be reminded by your friend, maybe he will remember to reach out to you more often.

I have some clothes stored in a couple of totes in the basement that are too small. I have 3-4 different sizes, a few things in each size. I want to keep just a few things in case I lose weight again because I go up and down all the time.
I went thru one of the totes yesterday and decided to donate 6 pairs of capris, a pair of jeans, a bathing suit and a camisole. I decided that capris just don't look good on me, I'm too short and most of them are too long and come down to about mid calf. I will stick with either pants, shorts, or skirts.
I went thru a couple of cupboards in my laundry room and set aside to donate a bag that had a bunch of chair floor protectors in it. I don't even know what they are called but you put them on the feet of your chairs to keep from scratching up your floors.
I tossed a wood fill stick and an open pack of stick on felt pads. I used the felt pads on the chair legs instead of those little feet protectors and the pieces that were left in the package I won't use.
I also set aside one more book to donate.

Was away last week at the beach, house/cat sitting for family...so no decluttering.
Since coming back...did another deep dive into my emails. Trying to clean out & keep up with this...I have two email accounts, I use differently, mostly switched over from old email platform to gmail, due to Yahoo not supporting my old one anymore, so I believe it's less secure. Anyway, did that a few months ago. I had gmail before then, but had not switched over all my online accounts to that email until recently. Since then, lots of promotional stuff comes to gmail, so anyway, continuing to try to streamline and clear digital clutter from both.
Also, was listening this morning to one of my YT channels "Rose Red Homestead"... she was talking about the Bromines? ...I forget exact word ...toxins in "black plastic"...tossed all my "to go" containers from restaurant leftovers that had the black plastic. Not sure how to mitigate getting food in them from the restaurant to begin with...but not keeping them for transporting food, or for leftovers anymore. Tossed 5 of them.
Tried on a few of the "set aside" possible donation items before I went away...had two dresses...kept them...one is new with tags...liked it better than I recall...nice summer cocktail or vacation dress. Earmarked to wear this year!
I have a pair of skinny whites Tribal jean/pants...also brand new with tags, from when I worked at the boutique, 5 years ago. I had two pairs of these, two colors (and yes, not wearing skinnies and tunics really anymore)...probably donating the white (I have other white pants I prefer to wear) and only keeping the light olive/gray ones...skinny and all, I still like those and have a few tops I still like and wear with these. They're not so skinny to look outdated.
That's it for now~Happy Sunday, everyone. 🌞

Cleaned out the guest closet where I store my coats and jackets. Put in the donation pile 1 leather jacket. Also 2 Liz Claiborne coats. I think these both may be about 30 years old. They're both "classic" in style; however, I have not worn them in so many years, and I don't see me wearing them in the future, so I put those in the donation pile.
Cleaned out another closet that has more coats. I threw out a few that I kept for work around the yard - I only need 1 or 2 and don't need to have a collection for yard work! Donated about 4 fleece jackets - some I just don't like the color, or the way they fit, etc. There were a couple of sweaters (remember QVC brand Stiches in Time?) I also put in the donation pile.
I put all of the coats I kept on Joy Mangano hangers and threw out the plastic hangers. I have so many plastic hangers hanging in the laundry room and someday will need to go through those. Both closets are still full, but at least I can move the coats a bit to see what I have.
One thing I know for sure, I don't need any more coats or jackets! ![]()

Today I delivered to Goodwill white porcelain dinner plates along with cups and saucers -- I think it was set of 6. I don't really remember because I packed them a long time ago. I plan to purchase just a few Correlle plates to replace them, but I'm in no hurry. Still have a couple of the porcelain plates I can use. Love the feeling of freeing up the space.

Cleaned Out the Rafters in The Front Garage: I did the rafters in the back garage a few weeks ago - it was not too bad. I've put off doing the ones in the front garage as I can tell there is LOTS of motorcycle stuff.
Went on one side and pulled down about 8 motorcycle windshields. They were not very heavy as I think their made with plexiglass. I put those in a large black bag for next weeks garbage.
Then there were about 4 back rests. They're metal with some leather. I put that in the metal pile.
Went to the other side and there were exhaust pipes. There were about 4 of those. They were heavy, but I just took my time and did it very carefully. Those are also now in the metal pile.
There were about 5 fluorescent light bulbs. I put those in a large black bag for next week's garbage.
A box full of air filters - probably about 10 or so. I think they're air filters for cars and they looked like they were all brand new still in their original boxes. My thought is that they're for cars we no longer own? Don't know - but even if they did fit a car I have, they've been up in the garage rafters with all of that heat and probably would not be the best to use. I pulled them out of the boxes - put the boxes in the recycle bin and the filters in a black bag for next week's garbage.
Miscellaneous metal motorcycle parts - crash bars, head lights, etc. Put those in the metal pile.
There is still 1 motorcycle fairing up in the rafters, 1 Rubber maid tub, and 1 cardboard box. They all feel too heavy for me to attempt to do by myself. I'll either wait until someone can help me or it'll come with the house when someone inherits it.
Update: I slit open the remaining cardboard box and was able to take things out one at a time. So now that's gone too. The remaining 2 items (Rubbermaid tub and motorcycle fairing I'm not going to attempt). I'm done!!!

Good grief! Just when I think everything is falling in place...
I tried on all my dress shoes to pick a pair to wear to an upcoming wedding and they all feel tight! I think my feet have grown and probably gotten wider from being barefoot all the time.
Now I have to shop for new shoes. But I will also be donating several pair. I won't call it a win-win because it kind of hurts to get rid of some of my favorites.
Oh well...it's always something!

I went through fall decorations and filled 2 plastic bins to take to Goodwill. In November I plan to take all of my Christmas decorations down from racks in my garage and sort through what I will be using. I plan to part with 3/4 of what I have.

I went thru my main closet and bagged up a lot of "miscellaneous" items to take to Goodwill tomorrow.
As soon as I do my fall and winter seasonal switch over, I'll be taking more things to Goodwill...
Y'all know my rule: If I didn't wear it at all this summer, it goes in the donation pile! ![]()
