Haha! When we built our home, our architect wanted for us to put a library (wall of shelves for books) underneath our staircase. We opted for a wet bar instead! Cha ching! Woman Very Happy

My first thought honestly was "how in the world would you clean that and who would want to?"  LOL

I wonder how old this photo is.  I haven't seen a powder blue slimline phone for years.

Hahaha.  Not to mention, do people still have those hanging chairs?

@Lipstickdiva

Weekly feather-duster dusting and a couple of times a year - go through dust indiviually and re-arrange and restack.

Mine get out of place and need to be re-arranged every so often.

It was kind of funny a few weeks ago when I emptied all the bookcases and piles and after I was done - I had leftover books!   It's like they reproduced while piled on the floor.

One thing that an owner of our house, prior to us, did was to put a closet under the stairwell.   But it's in the back, not along the side (hope that makes sense).   So, the little closet is literally under the stairs.

Since the back part with the door is in the back, you don't see it unless you go back there, and the side is smooth.   It's nice to have a place to put stuff without having to see the stuff.  Smiley Happy

I love to read but seeing all those books makes me think of all the dust they they must collect.

Clever idea but, in my opinion, too disorganized for an area so out in the open. I would take the scattered nicknacks and art stuff and group them together on only a few of the shelves because I think the books should be the main focus.  And I would put most of the books upright. I don’t like so many laying down flat. That hanging chair would have to go. How much weight would it hold?
