In the last week

My dehumidifier broke (think it needs a new fan, and hubby can fix if that is so)

My fan broke (actually two of them)

My tractor broke (twice, to the tune of over $500 in parts alone)

My car broke (needs at least a wheel bearing)

My newest TV, the one in the family room is broke (just goes black screen whenever it feels like it, but husband thinks he can fix it with parts)

So now I'm broke.

When it rains, it pours.

I'm thinking this is the gods intervening so I don't spend any money during Christmas in July! LOL

Most of it is fixable with parts and husband's unending talents, but geeze. No more please!

Well when you tork off the fix it head honcho, what did you do anyway?  LOL.  My first thought was When It Rains It Pours.  Just like you said.  I think you hold the record for jobs that need to be done + $$$$.

Do you still have a TV that can be fixed with parts? LOL. We upgraded to flat screens only within the last year and a half so I think I can tease you. I think when the flat screens go out it's cheaper to buy a new one!

Most anything can be fixed or repaired. You just have to know how to do it. I am good at that. I fix a lot of things even with my arthritic hands I can get a lot done. If I can't do it then I usually ask for help and show them the way. Fixing things yourself saves a lot of money, plus you know what you end up with when it gets done.

We have a relatively new and I think it's a flat screen (they change so fast, but this one is probably 5 years old I'd say), and my husband in addition to being quite the mechanic, does know his way around electronic things well  enough to put a new "thingy" (board or something?) in it. He looked it up and also talked to his brother who was an appliance and electronic repair person (and builds computers) for Sears and there are parts for these for the issue we seem to be having. Should only cost maybe $25 to try the fix first, before buying new.

I truly believe that electronic and mechanical gizmos in our homes talk to each other when we're not watching.  It's a plot to revolt I tell you!  Woman LOL

I used to believe they all belonged to the same union, when one quit they all quit in sympathy.

However, I could go with the conspiracy theory.

Ours  always go out the week of Christmas.  Can’t be a coincidence.
