Thank you, @giddy up. That's what I was thinking. My husband said there is nothing else to tighten up. I guess I better call and ask before the warranty runs out. It's still happening and could result in injury. The edges on the inner lid are quite sharp. 

 

Otherwise, this is a real workhorse! Love how the laundry comes out.

Well said. It’s frustrating to have individuals profess to endorse something like water conservation but not understanding impact on basic aspect of life. I am past having to wash dirty baseball uniforms, clothes for a construction worker, etc and I can’t imagine the frustration. I just want to wash my sheets effectively without going to laundromat or beating them to death. Right now a front loader is not an option. My 1980’s home has a small laundry room that prevents front loader. I can save water when I wash dishes in my sink, take shorter showers, watch running water when brushing teeth, etc but washing clothes is not a “one size fits all” place for constricting my water usage.
U-tube videos interesting but I am wary.
