Re: Santa's Best TSV -- Thoughts?

we are empty nesters....kids entertain us for christmas....last year we made the decision that putting up a tree wasn't necessary.....i got out the large ceramic tree that i made in the 70's....no gaps in the branches....and lights still work!  lol.....

Re: Santa's Best TSV -- Thoughts?

I ordered the TSV last year from BL. It was easier to fluff and being able to switch from color to white is something I was waiting on. I also love the way the power is in the pole with not having to plug cords together.

But, I had one strand of lights that went on and off some. It eventually stayed on. I wasn't about to un decorate the tree at that point so I was glad it straightened out. I'm not sure why, but I had to replace the batteries in the remote after about a month, go figure! I'm praying that everything works this year. Because it is a beautiful tree. But I can't afford to pay 500.00 for a tree to only last one year! I'll be so mad!

There is a shop called The Christmas place in pigeon forge Tenn.  They have a similar tree but cost a couple hundered more. BUT, the lights have a lifetime guarantee. But you have to choose between white or color. So if my BL tree don't work this year I might have to go there.

Hopefully the BL light TSV this year has all the kinks worked out. If so , it's worth the money.

Re: Santa's Best TSV -- Thoughts?

We are making the switch this year to an artificial.  We are both excited by the prospect of not having to clean up needles or string lights.

Because we intended to spend a substantial sum to get the nicest tree we could, i started researching.  As was mentioned earlier, Balsam Hill has MANY more tips, but no microlights.  And i really like that microlight look.  I tried to find out when Bethlehem Lights would be showing their trees on QVC, but I had no luck, either with QVC or with the folks at BL.

I called to find out what it would cost to return the Santas Best (if BL offers something with more tips), and I am okay with the $36 quoted.  So we bought the 7 1/2 foot Santas Best in green, shortly after the initial presentation at midnight, yesterday.  Throughout the day yesterday, i kept checking the tree page to see if anything was sold out.  The 7 1/2 foot in green disappeared from the available choices around 2pm,and I was feeling smug about having already purchased the size we needed..

Interestingly, ALL sizes and colors are available today.  I never knew they put a cap on how many they would sell at the sale price, but that appears to be the case.

I hope I made the right decision.
