@SweetSydney If I'm not mistaken, they often sell last year's trees earlier in CIJ, and later they sell the new models. The prices are usually quite good. @Mominohio You know so much about this. Am I presenting this accurately?

@loveschocolate
I hope QVC has the tree again this year. I looked at the pictures (It was sold out in the multicolor lights.) and I thought it was the most beautiful tree. I'm happy to learn it's as beautiful as it looked in the pictures.

Welcome to the boards! Hope you will join us here for Christmas in July (CIJ), as we have lots of fun and there are a number of new posters joining in recently.
As for trees, the best selection will be between July and October. They most likely will have a Today's Special Value on at least one tree during that time, and those are usually good prices.
But honestly, just before Christmas, and right after Christmas will have the cheapest prices. The problem will be selection. Many sizes and styles will be sold out. Shipping is a big expense on trees so watch for free shipping day or when they have a TSV they often give free shipping.
Another thing to know is that usually beginning on or about Sept. 25th, things purchased on QVC are returnable until Jan. 31st. That gives you 4 months to make sure the tree is going to work well for you and have no problems. Trees offered and bought during Christmas in July have the same thing, returnable till Jan 31st.
So anytime in the fourth quarter (well actually longer than that technically!) you find what you want in a tree, you have lots of time to make sure it will work for you.
@Mominohio
Thank you for welcoming me to the Boards! I will definitely join you here for Christmas in July.
I plan on shopping in July, because I don't want to miss out on getting the tree that I want. My husband & I have an 8' Christmas tree in our Great room. But I want a Christmas tree on our second floor.
Thank you so much for explaining everything to me.@Mominohio
I forgot to ask, do you know if Hallmark brings back their flocked Christmas trees?
I have MS and spend most of my time upstairs in my bedroom, so I'd like to have a tree on the landing of the staircase. I really loved the Hallmark 6.5' flocked tree with the multicolor lights.
A lot of times, they don't bring back the same things, but I will say, flocked trees have been really hot on Q the last two seasons, and they sell out quick in many sizes. If the Hallmark ones doesn't come back, my guess would be that there will be at least one other flocked tree, probably more, from other vendors.
@Mominohio
That's what worries me. If Iget lucky and QVC brings back the Hallmark Flocked tree, you can bet I'm going to buy it right away.![]()

I saw QVC still have the 5', but I'm hoping they'll bring back the 6.5' or the 7.5'. I have MS & spend the majority of my time upstairs.

I bought the 5 foot Hallmark tree (H208815) last year and we really like it. It is super easy to put up. On clearance now for $149. I decorate the house lavishly but only put up this small tree sitting on a coffee table.

@SweetSydney is right but for Christmas items sold during the month of July are also returnable in January . So you really have a long time to check them out and see what you think.

I've noticed the same thing. The trees during CIJ are often the old ones from years past.
Now that we have both stepped out there, I'm sure they will introduce a million new trees in July this time! LOL

If Hallmark doesn't bring back the 6.5' or 7.5' flocked tree, I'll more than likely buy the 5'. I have MS so I spend the majority of my time upstairs in my bedroom so I'd like a bigger tree up there.

I really like the fact that QVC gives us so much time to return things.

If you are looking for a tree....I found my best deal at Home Depot, but the problem is they don't start offering their trees until October.....That's when I got my 7 1/2 foot Martha Stewart with lots of bells and whistles (change from white lights to multi, and of course steady mode, glistening mode, or flash mode)...in pole lighting too, and at a good sale price too.... You can shop for trees at Home Depot online or in store whichever is convenient.
And I searched everywhere in town---Home Depot, Lowes, Michaels, Target, Hobby Lobby, JCP, Walmart .......
