We decorate around our front door.
Living Room - Real Christmas tree, decorated mantel with nutcrackers and stockings, festive tartan pillows and throws on the sofa and chairs.
Dining Room - Nativity, mercury glass on mantel, tartan plates, festive napkins and placemats.
Kitchen - Lit faux gingerbread house, a few whimisical Christmas cookie jars used as decoration (from Target a few years back). All of these are up on an open shelf - off the counter.
Butler's Pantry - I set up a festive hot chocolate area with cute Christmas mugs & napkins.
Family Room - Giant lollipops (30" tall) on the mantel in painted pots. Stockings on mantel, artificial Christmas tree, festive pillows and thows on sectional.
Bathrooms - Festive hand towels & tarten lampshades on sconces.
Bedrooms - Our daughter & son each have a small tabletop tree, which they LOVE to decorate. Festive bedding.
Master Bedroom - Tartan bedding, a small Christmas tree, decorated mantel
I never thought about it, but I guess I decorate pretty much our whole house. The upstairs is definately less decorated than downstairs. I really enjoy Christmas!

@Annabellethecat66 wrote:@lucymo I know I'm lucky but I'd go back in a minute to have my husband back. No one has a perfect life (if they say they do, they're lying). Right? I do appreciate what my girls do for me. I wish the younger one lived near me because it's hard for the oldest because she has 4 young children and stays busy.
They've had a very easy life (like we planned) but the beauty is they realize how lucky they are. I'm a stickler for thank you notes and every time I do something nice for them or their children, the children (in their handwriting) write out a thank you note. People don't do that much anymore. I don't believe in excuses.
I often think I wish I lived near some of you. You guys (some/most) are so sweet. I think we'd have fun out together once or twice a month, stretching each other's brains.
@Annabellethecat66 I love reading your post about your family. I know no one has a perfect life but you know it's what we do with the one we have that counts, I think.
I can't say I understand how it is to lose a spouse because I still have mine, but I can pray for comfort and blessings for those that have. It has to be so difficult but I admire you for trying to go and do as much as you can.
You know, I think the same thing about some of the posters on here. We are grouped together to share happy or sad times and the fact that we've never met makes no difference, we still send and receive good vibes from many. It would be a wonderful time for us to get together and just have chats and lots of laughs I'm sure.

I have a very open house so I decorate the entire open space including a little bit in the kitchen. Nothing in the bedrooms but a candle in the windows and the bathrooms get a gel stick vignette on the mirror and a holiday nightlight, and I have some Christmas hand towels.

@Pecky wrote:I did my decorating yesterday. I decorate in the great room, kitchen & foyer. I also put a few small things in the half bath off the foyer. It looks so nice and festive. It's perfect with all the snow we got lastnight and today!
@Pecky you got snow? Please don't send it to southern Mo, I don't like it. lol

I don't decorate our bedroom....but do the kitchen, family room, living room, hubby's den and Granddaughters playroom with a small Disney theme tree.....
When I worked, I never had time to do much, so this was always something on my 'to do' list after I retired.

@Susan Louise wrote:We have a small home...so no dining room, great room, den, family room, sun room, etc. I only decorate the kitchen and livingroom
me too!!!!!! So we only decorate the kitchen and living room as well....We have a ncie sized kitchen, so I always put out my Christmas dishes and a centerpeice, and then I have Christmas drying towels and Christmas Paper towels, Christmas throw rugs, and ornaments hanging on the chandelier/ceiling fan....It is fun, and my living room is decorated as well and the fireplace, but because our home is small, I wouldn't want every room done in Christmas, it would be way too much and overload!

Just a tree and Christmas knick knacks nowadays. Outside I use laser lighting.

I decorate everything but the dog!
Seriously, every room in our house gets some type of Xmas decor...bathrooms are minimal, just holiday hand towels and a vase of holly on the vanity. Living room, dining room, family room, front entry hall, stairs, upstairs hall and master bedroom and kitchen all get decorated. Our sons are grown so their rooms don't, when they were young, they had their own artificial little trees. Every year I say I'm going to scale down, but I never do! It's a lot of work and I love it when it's done but oh how I dread taking it down and putting it all away! Wish I could just "blink" it all back into the storage containers and down to the basement!!
