@GCR18  LOL.  I'm in the 'twilight zone' with @catchersmom.  I think it's getting crazier by the day.  Smiley Happy

@GCR18  I know.  And we all thought it wouldn't or couldn't happen. Cyber space is a very large area, hides and multiplies orders for days. LOL

@lucymo Another little update in the ongoing twilight zone saga. I just received a phone call from Daniel with QVC out of San Antonio, TX. He was calling to apologize for my "non-order" of those blooming ever-loving VPH spun sugar icy blue trees, as well as my $12 lunch time special D&C jacket (lol I had already forgotten about that item!).

Daniel was very nice, and I behaved in a similar fashion. I did ask him if they knew what caused the website blow up and he said he honestly didn't know, but they had been advised the problem had been identified and should not be an issue in the future. He also said I was the first person he knew of that had missed out on an item ordered in the early morning hours before the big fiasco.

....sigh.....

I placed 3 orders that day.

One order was duplicated.

They attempted to place the second of my orders today but that item sold had now out earlier this week so they rang me to tell me it was out of stock and they couldn't place the order after all.

The third order (item also sold out now) hasn't shown up so I expect I'll be getting a phone call about that too when they finally get around to trying to place it.

So basically, they put all these orders in a low priority queue and slowly worked though the backlog at their convenience, and meanwhile when the system came back up, everyone else got in days ahead of these orders.

They should have made these backlog orders high priority and got to them sooner.

@catchersmom  Wow, it is never ending, isn't it?  Did this Daniel know where he could come up with you a set of those spun sugar trees in icy blue?  Smiley Happy   If not, was this just a courtesy call?  Don't you hate it when you know you have to be nice when you really just want to scream?  lol

Well, I had an order that stayed in process for days and just when the EDD rolled around they just changed that date to a week later and put it in process again.  Now, it's changed to back order or as I call it, the dead zone.

I tried to cancel all of my remaining orders but they were too far along to cancel. However, only one has actually shipped.  Go figure.

@lucymo Daniel said "oh yes, those trees were very popular" hahaha and then confirmed there are no icy blue to be had. I did laugh and tell him at this point if I never see the icy blue spun sugar trees that would be ok with me Smiley Very Happy.

In real life I'm a manager over a customer service type team so my head knows Daniel didn't cause the issue; but yes it is tough to be polite when the whole thing was a giant mess.

I am too curious to see what you are going to actually end up receiving!!!! It's like a guessing game now. Every package is a surprise. I'm not sure where you live but I am also wondering how all of the sudden my shipping has amped up to super speed. Smiley Surprised

The really weird thing though is I never called to complain about any of the website ordering problems that day. I also don't think I posted anything in the customer care section here, but maybe I did and don't remember? The phone call caught me off guard for sure. That does at least tell me they can see our orders, even the ones that supposedly didn't go through and don't show in our order history.

@catchersmom  That's just weird that someone would call you when you haven't done anything out of the ordinary.  This whole episode just reeks of weirdness.

I'm proud that you were nice to the caller because you are right, he had absolutely nothing to do with the craziness of the website.

I live in southern Missouri.  We are a retired military family and have lived in a lot of places, stateside and overseas.  I love to communicate with people so naturally the forum ladies and gentlemen are very important to me.  It's like a group of friends even though we've never met.  Some of us have been friends for years and some are new friends but we are all here to help each other and have a laugh along the way too. I'm glad you have joined our group and I know you'll have fun.  Look at all that's happened already.  LOL

Thanks lucymo! You have been extraordinarily nice and have helped me feel very welcome Heart. There are a lot of great people on this forum; I've definitely enjoyed reading many of the posts. I often work from home and while waiting on reports to run or something similar I'll flip back over to the forums here. Was really excited to see how many people enjoy the holidays like I do too! Smiley Happy

And yes lol, the recent episode was definitely an experience. Who knew home shopping could be so adventurous?

@catchersmom  I was checking my order status last night and one of my orders from "that" day will be returned to sender.  What?
