Watched a handbag show in the early am and all of the handbags were girls.  Found it jarring each time the sex was announced.  TMI maybe?🙄

What?? Handbags have no gender- they are inanimate objects. why anthropomorphism handbags?? Odd.

It is a little odd and a bit annoying when the hosts refer to handbags as "she" and "her" but then again a lot of the bags are given female names to identify them so maybe that's how that started?  Maybe handbags are like boats?

I agree, but these bags must have been injected with a special sex marker because the host definitely called them by female pronouns.

I don't think of my bags as he or she.  Too many bags to name, and my memory is too short.  I do have a name for my car, though.  It's a Subaru Forrester, a beautiful blue.  So I named it "Bluebird," not only for the color but for the fact I have a lead foot - it flies.

I don't gender my handbags, but I also don't mind if other people do. I have bigger things to worry about that what someone else calls her handbag.

All of my handbags and shoes have names, most of them feminine and all named by the designer or manufacturer, not by me.  Maybe that is why some choose to use feminine pronouns when speaking of handbags and shoes.  Or maybe it is just a marketing ploy.  Either way it doesn't bother me.
