I think you are being too sensitive. I don't think it was said as an insult, more like girls having a conversation about hair and Shawn probably was pondering any genetic factors from her family. Easy to pick up on since the vendor started it with her genetics from a Grandmother.

Knowing Shawn as we do, I think  everyone should accept her remarks with a grain of salt and less judgement. She has a lot of" air time " to keep a conversation going and sometimes it is easier to speak without heavy forethought. Give her a break, she is trying to appear normal and human, and not arrogant and cocky! I would probably say horrid things myself if I had to talk 4-hours long daily !

I like Shawn and I am worried that the Q is overexposing her...Shawn with Isaac twice, PM Style, Tuesday Night Beauty, her new "deals" show on Wednesdays, Shawn Says Accessorize on Friday and now the occasional Dooney show on Saturday. She has admitted to not having many handbags, so I was surprised she was the host on Saturday's Dooney show. On one of the first Wednesday night shows with the good deal finds, she looked into the camera and said something like "I can't do everything around here."  I knew what she meant! It seems that the Q has a "deep enough bench" of hosts to bring other likeable hosts like Pat, Mary Beth, Jennifer, Nancy, Carolyn (when she returns...sending her positive and good wishes this summer), Sandra and even Courtney into the mix.

I agree. They are over-exposing her, just as they did Lisa. It seems they're committed to having a Queen Bee, which is another mis-step. Regardless, over-exposed or not doesn't excuse the consistent gilding of the lily about QVC being the only place that offers this, that or the other... The only thing QVC offers that other Dooney sources don't is Easy Pay.

Oh please, I think most of us are compassionate people, but we've all experienced tragedies. That doesn't mean we consistently air them publicly or use them as a means to do our jobs...  And frankly, her 'spirituality', such as it is, has become a bit over-exposed, just as has she.

It was the Vendor, who mentioned having an Italian Grandmother, that she had, inherited upper lip hair from.  She wasn't being insulting to her Grandma, she said how much she had meant to her. 

Shawn was later talking about having a problem with excess hair, and mentioned that she was not Italian,as a response, to the vendors earlier comment.  

I'm sure neither of them meant to be insulting, to anyone. It would be like me mentioning, how I inherited my wide "working feet" from my Irish Grandma's ( my Grandma's description ), and Irish decsended, women, taking offense.

Maybe  a bit of over sensitivity, eh?

Maybe. But I'm not sure that innocent intent is necessary the main criterion. What if a vendor lovingly made mention of having inherited her Jewish grandmother's nose? And I can think of several other examples involving stereotypes. It makes me wonder where we draw the line.

Well.... this just about takes the cake for a foot-in-mouth comment whether from the host or vendor. I am not by any means overly sensitive, but this was simply put, an air-head comment.

Is it possible she meant easy pay?  I think that all the hosts actually memorize scripts with all do respect they are glorified sales people. In fact I can read the look on there faces & know if they love the product they are selling. I have yet to see the show hosts wear anything they sell. When Lisa had her fashion shows at night she would stop the show to order one for her & The models did too. Whatever Lisa ordered I would & they were beautiful. She paid a fortune for her clothes & her GILI line were copies of clothes that she actually owned & it was QVC's upper class clothes quality line. I recently purchased ta couple of items that were on clearance on ex pay.  As far as Shawn goes I  like her she could be very witty at times. In all honesty I really miss Lisa she was funny but knew her merchandise inside out I knew it was a matter of time before she would leave, she was much to educated in all aspects of fashion to continue to be a show host. Since she left the show is not the same she had a certain energy about her. Don't get me wrong I still have my favorites still shop way to much, but unfortunately I discovered other shopping sites too. LOL but I always end up buying from QVC. They really are the best.

I find that Shawn lies, or to be more kind, stretches the truth.  I was watching The Find show last night where she says that she just bought a blue GILI jacket just a couple of days ago at $330.  The jacket is now half that price.  Here's the link to last night's video:

Funny... I remembered that she had said on-air that she bought the blue color option when the jacket was a TSV.  It was the third color option that she bought when the jacket was a TSV.
