I posted about a backpack a few months ago.  I kinda finally found one I kinda liked

There's a Coach one I like but it doesn't exactly fit.

I carry one now but I don't like the leather much.

I like the one shoulder look of backpacks.  Kind of like wearing a shoulder bag but slightly behind you.  I don't however wear one if security is an issue.

Mostly I'm a satchel girl, but sometimes you need your hands free.

I had one years back when they first came out.

It was a taupe pebbled suede with silver hardware.

Nice looking bag. Did not keep it very long before giving it away though

now that I think about it.

I like the look of double handled handbag when I actually use a handbag these days.

I have a Vera Bradley black one that I have had for years.  I carry it to Bible Study and Teachers Study.  It holds all my "stuff."  I love having a place to put books, my Bible and my ID, etc.  I would not take it to a cocktail party but for various occasions, it's kinda cool and very handy.

I bought a nylon back pack around Christmas and I love it! It can play double duty between the different things I like to do with it like go shopping or go hiking. It is a dup for a Kipling for alot less money. Found it on Amazon. I think the backpack style is a great addition to our bag inventory. PS I am 70 years old and am not ashamed of carrying my khaki colored back pack.

I actually do not see the purpose of a backpack "purse."  A crossbody IMO is much more practical but I do see a fair amount of those backpacks.

I use a backpack purse when I’m traveling in my car long distance.  Crossbodies are too small for me and harder to go to the gas station bathrooms with.  I’d much rather have the backpack on my back while in the bathroom than a crossbody at my side.

I know there are women out there who despise them. I just read that sales of traditional handbags like totes, satchels and crossbodies are down Sales of backpack style purses are up. Actually, backpacks for women. It is more of an urban trend. It makes sense; if you're in your car, the tradition bag and tote set up works fine.
