I blame qvc buyers for pushing Dooney to come up with this obviously cheaper design to hit a low $230 price point for a tsv. It looks cheap and  plain and hurts Dooney's brand. My first Dooney in 1980-81 cost $240 and was superb; a $230 Dooney today means that many corners were cut. I spent more than $500 for my last Dooney Florentine Toscana satchel (from Dooney direct) last fall, and I love it. Too bad qvc won't offer that kind of quality in a tsv. I will pay for the good stuff.

I suppose there are more folks out there who won't or who can't afford to pay five bills for a bag than there are those who will or who can... so they offer what they offer... Clearly, those five hundred dollar Dooney bags are still out there, they're just not offering them as TSV's on a home shopping channel...

I have this bag in Florentine in Chestnut, Wine, and natural; I do like it.  Happy with the newer color pallett.  I especially like the Mulberry and Olive!  I will wait for the presentation in August to make my final decision.  Patricia Nash has a TS on August 15th!

I don't want it, think it's rather uninspired and won't be ordering it, but I don't think it's a bad looking bag... On a personal level, I'm simply rather tired of Dooney and Bourke... Like everything else they sell, QVC has run them into the ground...

This bag is another diluted Dooney created specifically to be another QVC 'special value', nothing more and nothing less.

Easy pass for me.  Same old style, there is no outside pocket and that type of zip closure is difficult to open and to get things out of it.

I love the look of it and love the smooth leather.  I could easily buy one (design wise) but won't because I splurged on one of the Tuscana's with the leather lining in May.... won't consider another bag until that's paid for.  and I have to tell you that bag I bought is exquisite and smells SO good!

I do agree that the openings on that style are annoying, it's hard  to use,  the zipper does not open all they way if you KWIM

Re: August Dooney & Bourke special value

I happen to love this type of bag.

it has the pleats in front like the Toledo bags did.

i also like that it has the soft leather.

i don't need another key tag.

i agree with all you  ladies that they should do away with the key tag.

the colors are nice.

im moving to a mobile home and I have about 75 bags and am afraid of the ebay selling so I need to stop buying.

plus I'm into Patricia Nash now as dooney is just reusing the same shapes.

we will see how strong I am in august.

we all know that strap is one of their better designs.

It reminds me of the Sophie bags too.
