Susan your pictures are fantastic! I will have to upload some of my pictures to shutterfly to post them. However, my pictures are taken with my IPhone...lol ....so they aren't nearly as nice as yours. Do you mind telling me what kind of camera you use?

I saw that weasel photo on TV yesterday and I believe it was a baby weasel.

Image result for weasel woodpecker photo

This is not a baby weasel, this is how weasels kill their prey. They jump on the backs and go ofter the neck. I witnessed this first hand as it attacked and killed a bunny in my backyard. I tried to save him. It was heart wrenching. This picture is not a nice picture if you really understand what is going on here. {#emotions_dlg.crying}

HappyDaze, I heard the same thing - that is a full-grown type of weasel and they do take down woodpeckers among other prey. An amateur took this picture and I can't remember how he said this ended, but the woodpecker was able to get rid of the weasel and flew off. Amazing photo tho! SUSANLOUISE, your crane photos are GREAT! KATHODERAY, love that seagulls, makes me laugh every time :-D

yes because they were near it, it startled the weasel for a brief moment and this allowed the woodpecker to escape. I was able to do the same thing with the bunny and the bunny was able to escape but they are relentless and it went back after the bunny before I could get the bunny to complete safety (it had gone under the house). It isn't pleasant to hear a bunny squealing in pain. I cringe every time I see this picture knowing how painful and relentless they are to their prey. Sorry, not trying to be a downer about it but I guess I am in the minority of how cool the picture is knowing what was going down. Smiley Sad

I've been loving the Cardinals at my feeder this winter. I took this pic earlier this week.
