Re: Winter Items In Stores Already

I wonder if they are trying to beat the tariffs, and are selling things as fast as they get them in ?

Re: Winter Items In Stores Already

What I learned a long, long time ago is that when you NEED a bathing suit for summer and go shopping for one, it's too late. When you NEED boots for that snowstorm that's coming, you're going to find only flip-flops. Retail has always been that way (since at least the 80's when my first job was in it). My local Nordstrom will have fall items arriving for their July sale; but that's to be expected.

It's kinda like having to buy Halloween home items in August at HomeGoods; if you wait till October, there is nothing left.

When I worked part time at Saks Fifth Avenue, I always remember going to work the Sunday after summer began and there, on the floor, were the winter coatsWoman Tongue

JCP is putting our their back to school things now..,.. back to school and Christmas are most dept stores’ two biggest sources of revenue. Target and other stores usually do final markdowns on summer stuff the week after July 4...Hobby Lobby already has fall things being put on the shelves...right next to the July 4th decor. We will have a heat index of 108 today...hard to feel the harvest and pumpkin vibe right now! CIJ? No thanks.
