Winter Items In Stores Already

Yesterday I made a quick trip into Kohls for a couple of new bras. As I passed the accessories department I noticed a display of knit hats and scarves. They weren't even leftovers on clearance. It was so depressing to me that I didn't want to get any closer. Honestly wanted to scream.

I received an email from Rakuten this morning for a Levi's end of season sale. Included shorts and t shirts.

Yes I understand this is how the retail cycle works. But it's not even the official first day of Summer yet.

You hush woman.  LOL

We've had virtually no summer here at all.  It's been nothing but rain, rain and more rain.  And guess what's in the forecast for us?  Yep.  Rain!!!  So over this.

In a matter of days, QVC will be hawking CHRISTMAS IN JULY.  We will be told to buy, buy, buy, because this is the "only shipment of the year."  When it's gone, it's gone.  Poor Santa.  He must be frantic.

I know what you mean, girl   ... we're expecting more wet, wet lawns that we can't cut ... but this morning, oh this morning ... it was such a pleasure to step out on my front porch and have sunshine in my eyes; temperature is currently 66 lovely degrees!

The used to hold off until the 4th of July. But I have noticed when I am in a store ,limited amounts of sizes, and things seem to go fast

On the plus side of this, the summer stuff goes on deep discount while it's still in season and can be worn for months!  I like this effect.  Although it causes me to hoard a bit LOL.

Re: Winter Items In Stores Already

I would have screamed and ran away from them as fast as my legs would carry me...LOL  I started getting emails last week  from webites and catalogs,  Fall clothes.  Unbelievable.  I just put all my Fall/Winter things a way a couple of week ago.  I know why retailers do this but I'm an adult so don't let any retailer tell when should start shopping for the next season or the next holiday.  If I miss out on something, I'm ok with that.  I'm just not going to buy things that will sit in my closets and dresser drawyers for 5 months.  It does make me laugh that end of season summer sales are now coming....before the summer has even begun...LOL  Althought, that's actually a good thing  because we're getting discounted prices on the things we are wearing now or will be wearing in a few weeks.

Ya know, if the retailers keeping pushing us to buy stuff earlier and earlier, it’s only a matter of time when we’ll be shopping for seasonal items during the right season. Imagine shopping for Halloween items in October and shopping for Christmas items in late Nov-Dec. instead of July. Now there’s an idea. 🤪🤪

I think it's awful.

I'm looking for things to take on vacation in July.  I should have started looking in January.

Our weather has been awful - rainy and chilly.
