@author I've heard it all my life referring to a light, not thorough housecleaning/dusting, straightening your hair up, ironing just the cuffs/collar of my shirt if wearing under a sweater anyway (that's a good one), etc. Oh well, guess it isn't Southern after all.

@millieshops Sorry about your your losses. Don't mean to make light of the situation. I do understand the risks involved. We haven't dined inside a restaurant either. In our small college town, there are few restaurants with outdoor seating and then only about half dozen tables which have roped off for social distancing....3 tables? We brought in pizza or Chinese food several times, but that's been it. I've never cooked as many meals as I have since mid-February ....

@50Mickey Yes, it's all "iffy" for us, too. That's why I said "WHEN". Just because it's open, does not mean I'll be going either. It's just somewhat exciting to think about we may be headed in a direction to make it a safe possibility.

I am hoping that NYC and the burbs can extend outdoor dining with heaters for as long as possible, I will not eat inside, to much risk to my health right now
@millieshops wrote:I'm sad that the days of comfortable outdoor dining near me will come to their inevitable end sometime soon. Although restaurants in NY excepting the City do have limited indoor dining, among my friends the number who have taken advamtage of that is close to zero.
For me indoor dining now is a definite no. Since Covid arrived, I've turned 79 and lost 3 people I know to it, so I am picking my risks very carefully. The statistic released just recently on the relation of positive Covid tests and indoor restaurants was too high to suit me.

We have been going out since the restaurants in NC opened. We dont do movies so thats not an option for us. We have been living our normal life with precautions.

@Imaoldhippie My DD lives in WA and traveled to AZ last month to visit friends. If she were younger, would have put her across my knees!!! She should know better as a health professional, but said she isn't giving up what may be years of her life. She believes eventually we will all get Covid....mild cases for most, but unavoidable the way it spreads and people not willing to mask up.

We have too in Arizona. Our restaurants are open for indoor dining thankfully because no one in their right mind would eat outside in 110 plus heat. I've been doing pretty much normal stuff with precautions.

Our cases in Arizona have been pretty low the past month or so. Most things are open but limited. We can't eat outside because it's still to darn hot. Casinos, shopping, indoor dining for restaurants, gyms, bars, movies, zoos are all open. Masks and distancing are enforced. I think the only things closed are the bars that got busted for not following the limit rules.

have to say--I'm not going ANYWHERE big or little, until this virus thing is under control---and that will be a few years, I'm afraid. Too many stupid people doing what they want, when they want to--not gonna do it!!!
