I'm 5-3. I bought this utilitarian coat this year to keep me warm while shoveling snow. It comes to my knees which is perfect for me. I wear tall winter boots with it and I'm toasty warm. This coat is a 2-in-1 style...the inner layer is all black with filling and the outer shell is like a thick windbreaker with waist drawstring to keep out the wind. It's very warm but not too hot that it makes me sweat while I'm shoveling.

I have a fleece coat from Denim and Co.  that Carolyn presented about 4 years ago.  I love it, They have some similar ones on line still.  This coat is not to heavy it is perfect.  In fact I had it on yesterday and several people commented on how nice and cozy it looked.

Sometimes I wear an Eddie Bauer coat that closes with toggles.  It's a wool coat that's over a decade old - can't find a picture.

When winter really kicks in and the temperature drops this is the type of coat I like to wear A285581 from DB comes down or past the knees and has a removable hood.  I have a similar coat but it's shorter that I brought from him years ago and I always said I wish he made this in a longer version.  I think this is new so I am waiting for the reviews to see.

Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein, London Fog all have beautiful slim diagonal cut and light weight puffers on sale at Macy's.  I am from Chicago and do have 5 winter coats. Two are puffers and have a CK puffer in my Macy's cart as we speak 30% off, free shipping.

These designers have heard what we said about puffy and have fixed their styles.

DB TSV has the thinnest models leaving their coats hang open.  They look like fur balls when closed.

I have a full length fur coat that is heavy as heck, which I never wear anymore and I could seriously be mistaken for a bear in it.
