Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thursday October 13th)

Good Morning/Afternoon!

As I have mentioned, I have been getting Prolia injections for osteoporosis for several years.  Getting the injections has become more and more complicated due to insurance changes, etc.  Anyway, my specialty pharmacy started "bugging" me via text, phone calls, and emails well before I was eligible to have the injection.  Annoying to say the least.  Anyway, I finally was eligible on Tuesday, and they delivered the medicine to the doctor yesterday.  I called this morning, and the earliest I can have the injection is two weeks.  I couldn't believe it would take that long given that it is done by the "lab" (no doctor involved.)  Starting to think the doctor's office has way too many patients.

The hospice supplies won't be ready until tomorrow so I will be doing my grocery shopping and go to the gym today.

My SIL has had a sinus infection for a while, and yesterday he had to go for a nebulizer treatment -- his blood pressure was very high due to his breathing problems.  Hopefully, he will feel better today.  Also, my second DGS and his fiance caught COVID again despite being fully vaccinated, boosted, and having the new booster.  Not fun.

Yesterday, another of my "newcomers" friends who is staying with her daughter in California called to tell me that her breast cancer has come back (she had it 15 years or more ago), and now she is at Stage 4 and her lungs have become filled with fluid.  Very sad for her.

Hope Barbara gets some help from her spine doctor.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice day.  Please post if you have a chance.

Hugs,

Linda

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thursday October 13th)

Hi Everyone!

LindaLatte--You certainly have your days full of activities. I wish I could get into the habit of an exercise routine. Right now I'm using the Cubie Jr while I'm on the computer. That is actually doing some good and not bothering my knee. Hope your deliveries go smoothly. Thanks for the updates on everyone. I will keep them all in my prayers.

Birdmama---It's Day#2 and I'm still getting the desk back in order and trying to find a   spot to put the mouse. LOL On the upside----I am keeping to my revised budget because I can't find my preset sites. I was able to order the dog food yesterday so WOO-HOO!!!

We had a wind and rain storm this morning and now the temp has dropped. I finally am feeling some relief so I think I will venture out to do the banking. It's been warm during the days but dropping temps where you need heat at night. I'll be glad when it reaches an even cool. So far...it looks like the roof, siding and gutters are doing their jobs. The new shingle roof on the wishing well is holding up with the wind gusts so we are starting to breath easier.

I'm finally seeing some benefits to the decluttering of my closet .  I was so pleased and happy that I finally had progress. I even was able to declutter some items in the spare room chest of drawers. I can't wait until it all comes together. At least I can see little bits of progress in multiple areas so that's a good thing. I wish I had enough engergy to do it all in one clip of time but progress is good regardless. (At least....that's what I keep telling myself.)

I ordered the MukLuks socks for our DGS's fiance for Christmas and they arrived today. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed. They look nice so I hope she likes them.

Have a good afternoon/evening.

Good for you using your Cubie Jr., Fressa.  I know that Jean has had a good experience using a similar machine.  When COVID started, I tried one and found that I wasn't using it very much at all.  Somehow exercising when I am on the computer doesn't work for me.   I ended up selling the machine and donating the money to the local animal shelter.  The good part is that both of us are exercising, and that is important for our health.

Linda @LindaLatte

This must have been get aggravated by your medical provider day, lol.  You had it with the Prolia injection appointment and I had it with the dentist and lab making my replacement crown.

I'm sorry to read that one of your newcomer friends has a recurrence of breast cancer that has reached stage 4.

@Fressa When my windows 7 desktop power source started smelling because it was overheating and on it's way it I was able to back everything up to a freestanding solid state drive.  The one thing that I overlooked because I was so sure the new power source I ordered would work was to save my shortcuts.  Well, I found the sites before I guess I'll find them again.

We had windy weather for a couple of days with occasional rain.  The sun came out yesterday so I was glad to see that.

I decluttered the cabinets under the jack n jill sink in the master bedroom, courtesy of those hoarders episodes I watched.  It was a good thing.  I found some stuff tucked away that I hadn't used or thought about in a decade Woman Embarassed

Birdmama---I'm hoping today is the last day that I have to enter passwords. ha ha!!

I can relate to the bathroom cabinet situation. I swear, I don't know how many times I sort thru that "stuff" I'm always finding "something". It's the same with both bathrooms. I have organizers and slider drawers so you would think that would solve the situation. I'm tryiing to be better with not "suckering" for a OTO deal, etc. so I don't end up with too many jars of body butter or face serum. I've improved the last few months but it is certainly a work in progress. So far, the blue bathroom is in better shape than the pink bathroom. LOL

Re: Shopaholics One Day at a Time (Thursday October 13th)

Good work with your decluttering efforts Bernie and Fressa.  I did some decluttering of my bathroom cabinets not long ago, but I definitely need to do more.  At least I have been going through my clothes and shoes again.

Yesterday, I read something rather interesting about the 20-20 decluttering rule that if you can replace something for less than $20 and in under 20 minutes, it can safely be decluttered. OUT it goes!  I may put rule to the test with the bathroom and kitchen cabinet clutter.

My landscaper is here, and doing a wonderful job.  Earlier, I attended the pancake breakfast fundraiser at the local firehouse.  The firehouse is on my usual walking route, and I couldn't resist since I wanted pancakes but have been too lazy to make them.  A neighborhood couple I often see on my walks (also walkers) invited me to sit at their table.  Turns out they have lived here longer than me and are from San Diego.  Very nice people.

I haven't heard about the hospice supplies yet, but I should soon.  Yesterday, I did the mailings and took them to the Post Office.

Don't know if I mentioned that I had ordered the SG TSV pants -- they went on quite a journey from California to Arizona, then to Utah, and back to Arizona.  Anyway, they are keepers.

DD said my SIL is better and my DGD is finally back to eating more normally.

Waves to all of our posters and readers.  Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Hugs,

Linda
