It is a beautiful morning.,sydnie has her final day of soccer camp. She brought water balloons and her squirt guns because they have water play the last 30 minutes. I am not feeling spectacular today but did run some errands done., v is due home later today...he called last night and said he had a good time.
Linda, hope the banking issues can be figured out by dhs son. That sounds a little messy. Glad dgds procedure was not difficult. I can imagine she must have a big food bill. Glad you found the shoe laces. V wears shoes with Velcro straps.
Claudia, hope your day is going well.
I am not going to do a lot today...the house is clean and no laundry needs to be done.
I will be back later.

Good Morning!  The weather was nice when we took our walk this morning -- cloudy and cooler.  It was a bit windy, but not too bad.  A few minutes ago we had a very brief shower, which was strange since the sun was out.  Now, it is sunny.  Guess the weather can't make up its mind.  We did have a little rain yesterday, and they are still predicting strong thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon.

DH received another e-mail from the Turkish bank, and again, I don't know what it said.  The translation made almost no sense, but I take it that he may not need to do all the forms they sent yesterday, but they would still like some information.  I could be totally wrong about that, but.....

I need to pick up some croissants for DH's breakfast tomorrow (I get them at the Safeway if I don't feel like going to COSTCO), but not too much else going on this morning.  The Newcomers  lunch will be at a country/golf club restaurant in Tubac, which means we will need to leave at least 30 minutes early (not all that close).  Should be a nice lunch, and good to see some of my friends.  Unfortunately, many have left for the summer, so it won't be a large group.

I'll be going to Curves this afternoon.

Hope both of you have a good day, and you aren't in too much pain, Barbara and your furbabies and husband are behaving, Claudia.

Hugs,

Linda

Syd and water balloons and squit guns- quite a combination. I'm sure she'll have lots of fun.

I need to do laundry. R let his pile up. Normally I'd leave it but not with Whit and family stopping by. I just finished cleaning up and mowing the backyard as heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow. It seems we never have more than one dry day.

R stopped down for a part that arrived in the mail plus various items he forgot. I had him go with me to Lowe's. A cordless trimmer was specially priced and with his military status he gets 10% off. The battery is charging now. We don't have a lot of areast o trim but I will be glad to get those areas taken care of. I also picked up more dog food for TT and Bo.

Tomorrow rain or no rain I plan to go to Art in the Wilds. My hope is that if it's raining some people will wait till the afternoon or Sunday to see if the weather improves. Hopefully I will be able to park nearby.

Enjoy your lunch, Linda. It must be frustrating not to be able to understand what the Turkish bank wants and how to access the funds.

I cannot figure out why I am having so much trouble manipulating these boards. Yikes!!!!

Linda, enjoy your lunch today...I love Tubac. That may be a day trip next winter, with a visit with you.

Claudia, enjoy whitneys visit. Is that next week. Your art fair sounds interesting.

Syd came home very wet...but she had fun. I am sure she will play with the rest of her balloons this afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I can't say I like the new boards either, Barbara.

I successfully used the trimmer and started a load of wash. It's about time to put it in the dryer. I scoot down the steps to the cellar landing then open and shut the wood gate before Griff can squeeze down to supervise me.

Good morning. I have a maxi dress on...I have several and really have not worn any yet. We have to go search for landscaping materials. V3 is coming down on Monday, to do things around the house.,I am going to try and get him to wash out the garage also.
He is a good guy.

V enjoyed his time with the kids. They did catch and release fishing.
Nothing on the agenda for the weekend. I am not going to do a lot because my infusion is due Wednesday.,

I am wondering if we should start a new thread weekly??? That way there aren't pages to go through. The iPad does not work well with this forum.

Re: Reformed Shopaholics

[ Edited ]

Sounds like a good idea to start a new thread weekly, Barbara.  Maybe title it something like Reformed Shopaholics (week of June .....)?  Hope your infusion really helps with your pain.  I'd love to go to Tubac with you.  Wouldn't you know that I got lost going there?  I thought I knew where it was, but got tripped up by the map.  LOL  Thank goodness for maps on my smartphone -- I found the place and realized that I had been there several years ago.  Very nice spot, and the lunch was nice.  Our waiter was a musician, and was planning to record four songs later in the day.  I think he said he already has a couple of CD's out.  Not sure I'd like his music (hip hop, etc.), but he was certainly a nice guy.

One of the ladies is turning 80 in August, and her son and DIL are having a luncheon for her.  They already sent an evite, and I already accepted.  No husbands invited, which means I will need to leave lunch for DH, but it should be fun.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but I found a local medical supply place sells shoes, and I made an appointment for DH Monday after next.  It sounds like they take their time with measurement and then order the shoes.  You come back to make sure they fit, etc.  I did receive those elastic laces yesterday, but putting them in his shoes wasn't easy.  So, I only did one -- it worked on our walk this morning, so I'll do the other one today.

His son said that he thinks DH just needs to fill out a form and pay on the interest in his Turkish bank account.  But, his wife (who is spending the summer in Turkey) will try to get clarification.  The whole thing is so crazy since DH cannot get the money out, and doesn't even know how much there is in the account.

My ex used to do catch and release fly fishing, Barbara.  It was nice, except he caught very few fish.

I was quite interested to see a FB post from my nephew,,,,,,,.  He has never "come out" as gay (at least to me), but he made reference to it in his FB post.  I'm so happy that he feels free to announce it, and also that his brother and Mother both "liked" his post.  It must be so difficult to try to hide something like that.

DD talked to the manager at the local bank, and that looks like a great option.  They will open a savings account, and there will be no monthly fee, etc.  She needs to wait until my SIL can come with her to the bank, so it will probably be Wednesday.  He and two of the boys are off at the college football camp today.

Hope you found some nice things at the art show, Claudia.  You were certainly ambitious yesterday -- glad you got so much done.

They are still talking about thunderstorms later, but so far it is sunny.

Have a good Saturday!

Hugs,

Linda

We are back from shopping for edging for the house outdoors. The store, like a Home Depot was very crowded, and I finally got to a point where I could not stand any more. So I went out to the car,
M will do the laundry forme.

We missed the turn to Tubac the first time we went Linda. We will plan that for next winter. Glad you found a store for shoes for dh. It was good that your nephew did his fb post. I will not say anymore so we do not get proofed.
If I start the thread on Monday, I will start a new one.

Enjoy the rest of your day. Chicken on the grill and sweet corn for dinner.

I have to say in spite of the weather it was the best show I've been to. Very wet and rainy plus wind. I saw a beautiful burlwood sink- way out of my price range but I loved it. I got a cotton wrap and a vest that hand loomed and preshrunk. I shouldn't have bought both but I did. I also got a black and white photo that was transferred onto bluestone. The picture was taken several miles from here of a tree and field. It reminded me of the 50's and 60's when gas was cheap and we'd pile into the family car for the Sunday drive.

The wind gusts were so strong that one of the vendor's facing the street had 2 tables blown off their risers. She had beadwork so nothing was breakable.

I got home very tired and wet. Being a park the ground was uneven and I had to watch my step and avoid tree roots. I tried to nap but couldn't. It has rained all day and Griff hates to go out.

I hope you can take it easy the rest of the weekend, Barbara. I have gone out to the car at times to wait.

Linda, glad DD found a bank.
