The jackets are easily recognizable as RL.  impeccable, tasteful, and beautifully tailored.  There is just no way you would not recognize it as expensive.

The patched jeans - you will be seeing them at your local discount stores.

Maybe that was the thought process.

@Franklinbell  It's absolutely stunning!  Enjoy it.  I've always dreamed of owning a RL jacket.  And yours in a beauty!

@Georgiagrama @Funny thing. I always say if I don't gasp when I open the box then I won't keep it...lol, well I gasped! It's so perfectly made. I'll probably wear it ever day, with every thing! One thing I can say....I bought my first blazer in 2002 and I still wear it! Navy blue, double breast. Gold buttons! I wore out the pants years ago but the blazer lives on!

@Franklinbell

Years ago I worked in retail.  They sent us to an Ann Taylor seminar with a representative from Ann Taylor.  She told us that the one item you should own is a well made jacket.  She said you can skimp on everything else, but people recognize a well made jacket and it should be one that would last you forever.

Sounds like you have done well with your choices.

@Georgiagrama @Wow! That is the exact same thing, I mean the exact same thing I was taught in charm school (a hundred years ago)  I think that is where my love of blazers came from! How funny! My mom thought a good blazer and lipstick were the keys to the universe! Lol

OH, that first picture was a winner. Blazer was beautifully made. Even in the photograph you could see that.

I really liked most if not all of them.

But the ripped dungarees? Nope.Never.

Ohhhh this jacket is so me. It's stunning. Yes RL is timeless and classic. I would wear this with jeans and boots.  I'm sure it would cost me a whole paycheck though 😕

And that sweater underneath...just gotta have
