I like all my walls neutral because I like my color in my decor and I change up periodically!

I think where you live can/ should also factor into color choices. we currently live in a Seattle home that is situated to get a lot of sunlight ( south/west) in the early morning to late evening. I had to totally rethink my color scheme when we moved here as previous home only had dappled sunlight due to all the trees surrounding the neighborhood. The time of year can also factor into how the color looks as does the color of the flooring really impact how you will 'see' the color. I put up sample boards and took my time to decide on the actual colors. I only have two colors throughout the house...other than the trim and ceiling colors. Open floor plan and the desire to be able to move things around from one room to the next. My soft furnishings, art work and personal 'treasures' is what helps give each room a bit of a different look. Good luck and IMO...go with colors make you happy.

I love this color. It's Benjamin Moore's color of the year for 2015.

AGV, do you have any Pottery Barn or West Elm type stores near you? Or maybe you can check out their websites, not to buy, but to look at the color schemes they use. I have gotten catalogs from them with "whole room" spreads and the color paints they use are shown in the catalog. Home Depot and Lowes have paint manufacturer pamphlets and booklets showing pleasing combinations in room settings. In the end it has to please you, so do something that makes you happy and shows your unique style and is not the necessarily the "safe" choice. Good luck.

Thank you for posting the Guilford Green. I was going to mention that I had seen this green as the color for 2015. I am seeing soft neutrals of all stripes sotaspeak on the decorating blogs. They appear to be using soft and neutral colors in their decor. I really am tired of all the white slipcover furniture but it still seems to be going strong as well as all the chalk painted furniture in a soft pallet, very French, very Farm. I check the decorating blogs, between naps on the porch, vignette design, southern savvy, cedarhill farm, a house romance, french cottage, southern hospitality, cote de texas, the lettered cottage, common ground and some others and all their decor seems to be soft neutrals with a pop of color here and there.

I see a lot of grays and browns on TV decorating shows.........but these are NOT colors I love or want surrounding me every day. I think you should decorate with colors and decor that you love and that make you happy, not limit yourself to what's currently in vogue. I also love traditional florals and patterns -- not the modern, geometric prints that are everywhere right now.

I've always loved white, so most of the bedroom, living room, dining room walls are white. Love the look all white with a red accent area carpet, which I had years ago; and next time we paint, I'm going back to a red carpet in the dining room. Black accent chairs. Love that clean, vibrant look!

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I don't do "current", I do what looks best with my furnishings and what I like. Right now I'm into tans and browns with white trim.

Carnie, how do you get all those colors in your kitchen? I love all the colors. What brand and paint color did you use? I am re-doing my kitchen and yours sounds like something I would really love.
