Re: EVINE moving its operations?

I don't watch shopping channels live.  I mostly check them out online.  So far I have bought little or nothing and I cannot help, when I do watch, that they seem to sell watches and then more watches.  Not exactly my kind of shopping channel.

@libbyannE, Us, too!  I think we must be in the minority, but my dh & I felt the same way, and got married in the Fall & honeymooned in the Canadian Rockies.  The locals there all looked at us like we were crazy when we told them we were from FL..."WHY did you choose such a cold honeymoon?!"  We said that we lived in a sauna already, so we wanted to enjoy some cooler weather.  We still feel that way, to this day.  We can't stand hot weather.

The fact that they want to have an eye level studio where passerbys can peer in and see the broadcasts seems odd to me.

Are they looking to have another studio where guests/celebs would appear but keep home base and most broadcasting in MN or would this be a total relocation?

I noticed one of the articles said Evine is also looking into weeding out the unknown brands they carry.

@Lipstickdiva

Both NBC and Fox have street level studios where people can watch through the windows.  Years ago I was at a Drudge show at Fox studios (remember the Drudge show?) ... we were there in the audience and there were people outside looking in.  One time in the 1990s, several of us were outside NBC with signs during the morning show.

I only watched Evine one time for about 10 minutes the other day - so I'm really not familar with their merchandise.  I'll have to tune in a few times to see what they sell.

Verrrry interesting. Going to Minnesota in winter is not a great thought, but St Pete in January sounds wonderful.

I agree. I don't recall hearing many vendors complain about having to visit Florida.

And the idea of Evine Outlets down here sounds wonderful to me! Well, I can dream of Shopping Channel Outlet Malls with all my faves in a row... Smiley Wink

@sunshine45 - it's a good strategy/benefit for the vendors, but it will add expenses and that will most likely mean higher prices for us. Spunds like they will keep hq in mn and add studios/ops in the other locations. Thx for the info

The headquarters, corporate offices, are currently in New York.  That's probably why they considered it as a new location.

And not just the hosts, but the rest of the employees.

I'd prefer CA weather, but I don't work for Evine.

Evine has a preponderance of female hosts.  This would involved spouses having to find new employment.  If they currently have good jobs, they may be unwilling to relocate.

Half these vendors leave the country to hawk their wares it would seem Minnesota would be a lot easier to get to! The reason for the relocation doesn't seem practical

Well, they would have the CA beaches for their watch shows......

Oh please don't give them anymore ideas for those watch shows.  They have them in "Invicta Pavilion" in Florida,  for what seems like the last couple of weeks they've been live from Cabo with those watches and I just saw on their homepage that they are going to be doing something from the Bahamas.

They're also signing people up for an Invicta cruise...on easy pay and you get a free Watch.   Woohoo!

Interesting. I dont watch their TV broadcasts and wonder how many Invicta watches can one own? (Only have 2 hands LOL) I do watch for Consulte Beaute (Dr Dubrow and Terry) and I am a monthly buyer of the various Boku SuperFoods powders which I use in my Smoothies and is Vegan/Kosher/No GMO's and tastes pretty good. Besides that maybe Indigo Threads when I find a good buy. Beekman 1802 with the Beekman Boys has added some interest and sales to their line-up. OOps almost forgot Isomers...I love Isomers Skincare brand.

May be prettier on the outside, but the inside will never change.
