@PINKdogWOOD Back in the day, Detroit Edison (they've changed their name and I still call them Detroit Edison) created a program called Cool Currents. When I bought this house it was set up for Cool Currents already. One electric meter for the A/C alone and another meter for the rest of the house electricity. Cool Currents allows Edison to stagger usage during the summer (never saw them do it in the winter) to balance the load on the grid. The deal is that they pause your usage no more than 10 minutes when your turn comes around. I have to say, having lived in this house for nearly 20 1/2 years, Edison has never caused me to overheat during my turn in the pausing phase.
When my new HVAC system was installed last September, the day after the furnace went in, the electricians came to finish all the wiring. The electrician asked me if I wanted to keep the interruptable circuit for A/C and I said yea.
My Mom used an oxygen concentrator in her last years of life. Me (primarily) and oldest sister understood if Ma had a power outage then middle sister and Ma would come to my house or Anna's house - who ever had a house with juice to keep Ma plugged in. Now, she had those large oxygen tanks on hand but those were short term. It never happened however that all 3 households were out of power however the plan for that was straight to ER to plug into wall.
So many things that used to be done in hospitals are done at home now to save money. You have folks doing home dialysis, home enteral feeding, etc. These things are life and death and require electricity.
I hope the electric company who did this to residents is raked over the coals for it.

Thank you!
He is growing up fast, as they do. He is now a "little man". The baby has gone away! 🥲
Next year, first grade!
Today will be fun...he has been mentioning his birthday since his sister's back in January!
As if I will forget! 🥰
