@gidgetgh , same. This is really annoying. You pay the big $ for apple products because they work so well. If they start putting out updates with lots of issues I will be rethinking my loyalty to this brand.

I can't imagine they put out 16.7 to fix 17?

16.7 was a security update for those that haven't yet updated to 17, or have devices that can't update to 17.
The more complicated these devices get, the more ways hackers find to get into them.😡

@Lilysmom1 wrote:@gidgetgh , I updated my phone no I am not happy. None of my Bluetooth connections appear to work. I should have waited. I am travelling out of country Wed. I looked for another update to 17 but don't see it🙄.
@Lilysmom1, I haven't seen this as a known problem with the new v. 17x, so I'm thinking it might be related to your device.
You might already have done this, but be sure to try powering down all paired devices (including the phone), then powering up. Also, you could unpair each bluetooth device from the phone ("forget" the device(s)), then pair them again as a new connection.
Since you said multiple connections aren't working, you may need to reset network settings. I do this regularly to help with any and all network and internet glitches, especially since I use an older iPad and iPhone and sometimes browsing the net gets wonky.

To add a general note: I like to install all updates as soon as they're available.
I understand why many people choose to wait, to let some of the new bugs surface and get resolved, and that's a personal preference.
Even so, waiting means missing out on essential security protections so please keep that in mind when waiting to install the new software.
As with many new versions, there are changes aplenty.😊
Over the years, I've found that trying to learn about all the changes before installing/updating isn't as efficient for me as learning after the install/update... I find it easier and faster to "walk through" the newly-updated iPad and iPhone and actually see the differences in action.
Then, if needed, reference them one-by-one online to understand and perhaps change settings, etc.
Again, a personal preference but I feel it's important to get all security software updated as soon as possible. As @geezerette said, hackers are always on the prowl with nefarious goals, and since I heavily use my iPad and iPhone devices online I want to protect them as well as possible.
I have an older iPhone and iPad -- both are actually performing better with v. 17x and I've had no problems.
Hope all of you are doing well. Have a lovely afternoon!🍂 🍁

There already are complaints about battery draining quickly after this update. I'm going to wait a bit for this update.
