HP laptop

Hello,

I have an HP laptop that will randomly shut down regardless if the battery has a full charge or not.

That can happen if it is overheating.  How long does it stay off?

Once it shuts down I will plug it in and restart with no issues.  It also will shut down randomly even if it is plugged in.  Either way, I immediately turn it back on and it is fine.

Yesterday I checked the battery level and said 98% and within a half hour or so it shut down.  When I plugged in and turned back on, the battery was low.  

Does not feel hot to the touch whatsoever.
