I have been downloading Kindle books to both devices for years. All of a sudden when I try to download most books, I get a message on the book page on Amazon saying "this application does not support purchasing digital content." Anyone know what is going on?

Re: iPad/iPhone Kindle Question

You can't purchase Kindle books with the Amazon store app, you need to visit amazon.com in your browser and then you can. I have no idea why Amazon's app won't allow you to purchase Kindle books. It's never made any sense to me.

The Audible app is the same way. I can't buy content from the app where I listen to it, I have to visit the store in the browser. I just saved the Audible store to my home page, so I have an icon to use to get there fast.

Re: iPad/iPhone Kindle Question

Can you buy from your kindle and then open the books in your IPad Kindle app? If not, Try resetting both devices. With the Kindle, hold the power button for a full 20 seconds, even after the kindle looks off. Also, call Kindle CS. They are super helpful, and don't charge, like Apple does. Also, I learned at the Apple store that you need to let the IPad go to zero battery every now and then for maximum performance.

Re: iPad/iPhone Kindle Question

I saw on the late night show "Nightline" that Amazon has gone crazy buying up everything. They said pretty soon just about everything will be owned by Amazon.

I loved it, loved it (as an Apple user) when the Amazon guy was bragging how it would 'interface' with everything (their phone) he put it next to the Iphone5 (which I have and love) and it wouldn't work.

He was sooooo embarrassed. He turned to the guy behind him and said out loud in front of the TV camera, "Houston, we have a problem".

If Apple products are so bad why is it that everyone is always comparing whatever it is to Amazon.

I purchase books for my IPad from Amazon all the time. I've never purchased audible books, though. I just downloaded a Kindle app for Apple, and it works perfectly.

Re: iPad/iPhone Kindle Question

When Apple introduced iBooks, they changed the Kindle and Nook apps so that you cannot purchase directly from those apps. However, you can purchase if you go to Amazon.com on your Apple device or a PC and then your purchase will show up in your Kindle cloud on your Apple device or directly in your Kindle app if you direct the purchase to a specific Apple device.
