It's about 4 years old so maybe it's on its last leg. When I go to websites, in particular on FB, I can't read the articles because the page keeps dropping off. I researched the problem and was told to go to settings and enable FB. It was already enabled, so I disabled it. Worse. I like to take the mini with me wherever I go when I might have down time.
How long can I expect an iPad to function well? I have the iPad 10 inch and its Bout 3 years old. It works better but not a lot. I keep threatening to get the iPad Pro but something always comes up to buy instead. Thanks a bunch.

Have you been able to update to the newest browser and so? My regular size iPad does the same on some sites. I have not been able to update because there is not enough memory left. I need a new one, but is also need a new computer and phone. Can't get all of them.

Back up your information to the cloud or your computer and do a factory reset/restore. Once it's finished, select restore from a backup and it will run like new. This should be done on all devices you have once they get some years on them. Instead, most people throw them out and buy new.
You can find out how to do this through Google, Apple or YouTube. It's very easy to redo an iPad. If you have a Windows computer, you will need iTunes installed.

agree I have an old iPad and have reset it as a new one couple of times,
apparently the hardware gets old. I don't want to buy a new one either.
@Mmsfoxxie if you set it up as a new one after backing up, you should get more life from it :-)

Devices start to run slow because of all the "junk" that accummulates. Even Apple products will have old files, installation files, etc. that get put on the hard drive taking up space. If you look at the usage, or at least you use to be able to look at usage, and there is a category called "other". I had it taking up 65% of my hard drive space and couldn't get rid of the files until I did a restore from backup.

Thanks for your input ladies. I'm going to reseach the Cloud cause I've never understood it.
I am done a hard reset per instructions from here before, though. I'll try that again.

We aren't talking about a hard reset.

You don't need to back up to the cloud if you have a computer with iTunes, you can back up to the computer instead.
If you do back on your computer, you should make sure your computer is also backed up so you don't lose your iPad backup and the contents of your computer if your computer breaks.
I do both because I have a small amount of cloud storage and a large number of music files on my iPhone.
