Check the length of time your new phone gets security updates. I did not realize that Samsung has more safety updates than Moto. I was all settled in with a sharp little Moto (I expected to keep it for a long time) but I discovered it was only getting those security updates for just a few months after I bought it. And, I think the Samsung 5G gets updated for at least 5 years.

I purchased a tracphone for my aunt years ago on Q. Last year that phone had to be replaced because the 3 g service was no longer available. I purchased a new tracphone and the phone number and minutes transferred. (My aunt has lots of minutes). I buy her a 1 year plan for $99 from Walmart online every January.
So really, I think if you stick with tracphones, you have lots of options.

My time is expiring this month. How do you renew just time?

I have only done it once and that was many years ago. Were I to do it now, i would open my TracFone account on my cell phone, and add the additional time I wanted. They should have all the info they need in the phone's account.
I am sure others here can probably tell you easier ways since many do not buy new phones every year.

I don't need to add min. The phone service is expiring March 29th. You have to pay to keep it.
Like I said, last yeat cheaper to buy another phone was the same price 59 from HSN, but they are not offering cheap phones that I could see. Most are over 100. Maybe Best Buy can help me or i'll call tracfone cs through hard to get through and when I do I can't understand them.
Well, I have three weeks to explore.
I haven't seen HSN or QVC offering much on phone sales this year like last year when I brought the one I have.
This has nothing to do with minutes.

Google the phrase below
tracphone 365 Days Basic Phone Prepaid Plan - 400 Minutes. It costs $99. You can buy fewer minutes for a different price, but we always go with the 1 year plan because it's a backup phone only.
You can buy plan from tracphone or Walmart on line has it as well. You will get an activation code sent via email and then they walk you thru applying it to your phone number. It may take 30-60 minutes before you see minutes, but they do show up.

You have to buy minutes to maintain service. 1 year = $99 is the lowest cost for 1 year. We didn't buy for more minutes either, but it is the only way to extend service wo buying a new phone.

That is why I bought my new Samsung phone a few months ago. I saw it for $59.98 delivered, and it is basically just an upgrade of my present Samsung. My year expires in early April, so I have not activated it yet.
It came with the 1500/1500/1500 and 1 year expiration. I knew no way I could beat the $59.98 for any Tracfone, so I it bought months ahead of my expiration date.
I only DVR HSN, no QVC. Haven't seen a TracFone lately. And with this new nonsense of $75 delivery free? Think they did that to confuse their customers.
If they keep that, I may be a former customer. Makes no sense to me! I want to see Free S&H, not a whole bunch of figuring out this $75 crup!

I challenge all of you who buy a new phone every year because it's cheaper to search for videos which shows you the working conditions of the children who work in the mines to get the metals needed to build these phones. It's horrific and dangerous.

John you and I brought the same tracfone last year for 59.99. The A02s. My year is up March 29. You got yours in April
I just brought the same you brought just now on HSN for 59.99
The AOS3. I think that is the one you are talking about.
I still have a lot of mins, but they said you can transfer everything just like I did last year.
I just don't remember how I did it. I think there is a certain app that does the transfering and I have it on my old phone.
Wish me luck.
