I noticed HSN has an HP Pavillion 17.3 Touch LED 6th Gen Intel Core I3 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD Windows 10 computer for $699.95 plus free shipping. I was wondering if this is a good computer and a good value? Is there really much of a difference between the Core I3 and I5? I'm not computer savvy but am in the market for a new laptop. What does anyone think?

Re: Upcoming HP Computer On HSN

Go to the HP website. You might find a better deal there.

This is a video of the HP Envy 17t. The current product has the latest Intel processor, a i7-6500U.

I agree with another poster. The best products are found at a company site.

I got an email 1 or 2 days ago for a sneak peek at a HP laptop, I think for Monday. It's HP 17" Gold Luxe Touch Laptop Quad Core with 1 TB HDD Windows 10 for $649.96 or $699.96 with Microsoft Office 365. It looks to me like a carrying case is included. Oh yeah, it has 4 GB of RAM and free shipping.

Thanks for the link. Looking at the video I didn't realize how huge the 17" screen is! I think my computer is 13" which is enough for me. I don't know if I even want something of this size.

I purchased a 15.6" i7 laptop for $200 less at Best Buy that is a processor 2 steps up in speed to the HSN computer. Even if you generously allow $100 price difference (and even on the shopping channels it's usually $50) for the difference in screen size, it is still $100 overpriced, but closer to $200.

Re: Upcoming HP Computer On HSN

I  just brought a new HP computer from the HP store it was less then 300 dollars and it has almost the same features as the HP that was shown on HSN. Except it is a 15.6 size and no touch screen [do not like that feature on a computer ].I agree go to the HP store and order from them.

You should check with your ISP and see which security software comes with your contract.

I like free AVG and paid Malwarebytes.

http://www.avg.com/ww-en/buy-antivirus and paid Malwarebytes comes with a 30 day trial. https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
