I am an Android person and I am not about to pay 2-3 times more for a name. Android is the top selling OS for a reason and price is certainly part of it. I've seen nothing yet than an iPad can do that cannot be replicated in some way with an Android Operating System Tablet. May not do the exact same things but will do as much, maybe more than the other ones.

For me it is Name/Price/Features in that order. Samsung is close to the top in almost everything they sell when it comes to electronic transmissions/receptions/Smart Phones and Tablets. The price of the Galaxy Tablet I bought for my wife some time back was way less than half the price of a similar iPad. Ain't into paying money for a just a name and a reputation when I can get the same, but a different name, for less $$$.

I share your love for Android, but she specifically asked for 4G capable. Samsung has limited cellular offerings... the Tab 3, the first Gen 8" Note (At&T) and the 10.1 first gen and 2014 (Verizon) and for the cost of those she can get an iPad, which now offer ALL LTE band compatability. Apple is in the lead on this one.

It depends on what experience you want; both are good and both have their fans. For Mac and/or an iPhone users, the benefits of an iPad are pretty clear. For Windows users, you could go either way. However, "replicated in some way" by Android may be true, but IMO only an iPad works like an iPad. So it comes down to your preference. (It's never about the technology, it's about you.)
