Last week a fairly large number '23' appeared in the upper left corner of my phone. I have no idea why or what it is nor how to get rid of it. Any help here?

I'm assuming it's a little bubble attached to the app you have in that spot. It's giving you a notification of some sort. If it's the mail app it's telling you now many emails you have in your box, if it's the messages app it's telling you how many texts. But other apps will notify other things.

Thanks for trying. Nope, not that. This number is large and under the settings icon. Not the typical little red circle with a number in it like you see with emails or texts.

Nope, I've no idea what that is. It could be from an App you have. Can you take a screen shot and post it here for us to look at? You could also take it to an Apple store to get help from an Apple Genius.

I agree. Don't know what that is, and need to see a picture. You can take a screen shot of your phone (desktop) by holding the home key and sleep key at the same time. The picture will save to your camera roll, where you will be able to select it to post it here.

Do you use IOS7? I never upgraded from 6. What iphone is it? I'm always finding people online talking about problems with their phones. I went to look for you, but it would help me if I knew which phone and which OS you have. You can try yourself. Just type in the search window number 23 in upper left corner of IPhone. I had many hits, none for a 23, and many more hits for things in the upper right corner.

Strange things happening to my iPhone also. I keep getting messages from someone I suppose is carrying on an ongoing conversation with another user. The messages are obviously in answer to something he is receiving. (Clearly from the messages it is a "he".) I have to believe that the messages are also going to someone else, because the messages I get are clearly an answer to questions and comments from someone.

Hope it's over soon. It's getting "hot".

I've gotten texts for other people before, they obviously entered the wrong phone number, I just text them back saying, wrong person.
