I heard yesterday there is an issue with some of the phones, vulnerability.  Can anyone explain in laymen's language what I need to do to make sure my phone is secure.  Have a Galaxy 4 purchased less than a year ago, service is thru Verizon.    Thanks.

Please let me know if you hear more.  I hope the Samsung Notes aren't involved.

My understanding is that some apps may allow bad people to access your information. Apparently Google is not as particular about the apps they allow to be downloaded as Apple is. I went through my apps and uninstalled any that I don't use on a regular basis. I also removed any legit apps, ie, banking apps, that could cause me big problems if they are hacked. I have a Samson Galaxy S3. Edit - I'm not referring to the Google apps that are preloaded on your phone - just the ones I added myself.

This is a link to the problem. There are 600million Samsung phones exposed to being hacked http://money.cnn.com/2015/06/17/technology/samsung-galaxy-hack/

if any of you actually read, it's not even an issue.  all the stars would have to align for it to maybe work.  this isn't anything big.

I'm not at all worried!  I was told the only way for this to happen is to go somewhere and utilize "open unsecured" wifi!  I have NEVER done this and NEVER will!
