Parental control software for children's internet use

Hi, I have a 9 yr. old son and he has his own computer. My husband and I are careful about monitoring his activities, but I would like to find an effective program to filter out objectionable content. He has a Nintendo DS and there are some You Tube videos that help him play his Pokemon games, however, there is a lot of bad stuff out there that I don't want him to access.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
