I am trying to add an avatar and a signature to my posts.  I have clicked several times on My Settings but nothing comes up.  Advice for a non savvy user?

Re: My Settings Question

I just clicked on My Settings and the correct screen comes up for me. Are you using a mobile device? It might not work with a tablet or a phone.

Click on the link in my signature and you'll find a post full of links to tutorials and directions, including one for How to add an avatar.

@asoutherngirl, To add a signature, first choose "My Settings."   Then under "Personal" choose "Personal Information."  Type the signature in the "Signature" field and then be sure to click "SAVE" at the bottom of the page.

This is a screen shot of mine:

Thank you so much for the pointers.  My problem is that absolutely nothing comes up when I click on MY Settings  Everything else works.  I am using my lap top.

To add an avatar, choose "My Settings."  Then select the "Avatars" tab.    Then, you can choose "From Uploaded Images" if you have any in your account.

(The help text states:  "These are your approved images. If you don't see any images, it means that you don't yet have any images that have been approved. If necessary, go to your My Images page (the link is on your profile page) and upload a new image. After you upload an image, you must wait until it has been approved by a moderator before you can use it as your avatar.")

Or, you can choose "Upload an Avatar" and follow the directions to upload an image from your device.

@asoutherngirl, What type of device and which browser are you using?  Is all the software up-to-date?  You might need to update some software, or clear browser cookies/cache/website data, or use a different browser.  I'm sorry you're having problems -- it can be very frustrating.

What web browser are you using? I would try another and see if the issue persists, You may also want to report the issue with more information (what operating system and browser cause the problem) in the Customer Care forum.

I use Chrome and encounter no problems.

again, thank you so very much to those who responded to my "dilemma".  It was so kind of you to offer your tech savvy.  You really impressed me!  Taking computer to repair. Noticed another issue this afternoon.
