Microsoft Ends Support for Internet Explorer 8,9 and 10

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/internet-explorer-versio-8-9-10-dead-e...

I am talking about a browser, used to view web sites. Microsoft will not support these three versions of Internet Explorer with monthly service updates.

Please check any computer running Vista Windows  or Window 7.

The other versions of Windows are fine.

Window 7. You need to update to IE11.

Here is how to check your browser http://www.wikihow.com/Check-What-Version-of-Internet-Explorer-You-Have

Vista Windows

Firefox will run in VW. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/get-latest-version-firefox-windows-xp-vista

Do your bookmarks convert when you upgrade an IE version?

Yes, they will update. You may want to save a copy, by exporting them to your Document file.

You may want to install Firefox and import your bookmarks from IE.

I have  9 year old computer with windows 7. I have heard so many horror stories of people having issues with their computer after downloading the new windows. With their older computers. I am not computer savvy at all. I do not know what to do.

You only need to check the IE version you are using and update to IE 11.

How to update IE 11. Your computer maybe updated to IE11 already.

To turn on automatic upgrades
  1. Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
  2. Tap or click the Tools button (or tap or click Help in the menu bar), and then tap or click About Internet Explorer.
  3. Select the Install new versions automatically check box, and then tap or click OK.

Do yourself a huge favor and DON'T.  If you want Windows 10, wait until you get a new computer.  Stop using Windows Explorer and switch to either Chrome or Firefox.  Both will import all of your bookmarks/favorites.  I never recommend people upgrade to a new operating system unless it's from Apple.

Re: Microsoft Ends Support for Internet Explorer 8,9 and 10

I updated my old computer to Windows 10,  I didn't have any issues. But I know others who did.

Got a new computer last month with Windows 10 already installed.
