I bought a new tracfone and it came today. I went to simply activate .com to set it up and it was very simple - however, they say you may have to wait for up to 24 hours for it to activate and in the meanwhile it has stopped the service on my previous phone also so until the new phone starts - sometime within 24 hours - I have no phone. EEEKKK. I am not even one of those people who is horribly addicted to my phone but I know for sure I'm going to miss some texts. 

Has anyone used this service? How long did it take to activate the new phone once you got the message? I guess it depends on how busy they are. Right now I am trying to port over my # and service from my old phone and it said after that is up and running I can do the promotional service that comes with the new phone.

I think they tell you it may take up to 24 hours - but it usually is pretty quick.  Good luck!

Mine always activated within 15 minutes or less.

Ours were activated pretty quick. I think it takes longer when you port a number.

There is an 888 # I can call tomorrow if it hasn't worked within the 24 hours.

Try turning your phone off and on again. That just might do the trick...

How do they notify you when the activation is complete? Text? e mail?

I wouldn't be at all upset if they had not taken the service from my old phone, leaving me with no phone at all. I am in never never land now - can't seem to go back or forward. Sent them an e mail this AM - they promise to get back to me within 24 hours. Well, the way I see this , I pay for this service by the day and so far they owe me at least one day and who knows how many more. Right now they are taking my money but not providing any service.
