anyone buy a apple computer from qvc. I am not sure i would buy one. seems like you are over paying for a bunch of items I would never use. I am also not sure how old these computers are? seems they are older models from the store they did not sell and sold them to these shopping channels. I think I would pay for the newer models in the store. also seems best buy has the older models also. what do you think?

No do not buy an overpriced Apple anything from QVC. Order from Apple .com. Be prepared to sign for your package. Enjoy!

Whether you're buying a computer or a car, you have to know which options you're willing to pay for.

Would I buy QVC's Apple -  nope, because I won't buy any Apple.  I don't need to spend that much for my simple needs.  The Dell I'm using came from Costco -    at one 1/3 the price an Apple would have cost for similar size and software -  and it's still going fine almost 4 years later.

I know it won't be too long until I'll want a new machine, but that would be true if I'd spend big bucks to buy an Apple.  Technology changes faster than my bank account earns interest.  No sense wasting my dollars.

I would NOT buy any type of computer from QVC. Yesterday's technology today. I would go to an Apple retailer and get what I want and not a bunch of cheap useless accessories that you won't use. Plus if there is a problem (and there rarely is) you can take it back to Apple and they will take care of it. They will even make sure your computer is working properly before you leave the store. They will also transfer your data for you too the new computer. If you are going to buy a new computer you want the newest technology. I bought a MacBook Pro a few months ago and I love it.

The old Qforums had many threads on this, you may want to search here and read responses.

No, I've bought my apple computers directly from Apple. QVC tends to have old stock and adds in aftermarket items to jack up the price.

The bottom line is, if you want to buy an Apple laptop, be prepared to pay almost double what you'd pay for a fairly comparable Windows PC.  If you are willing & able to do that, go to the Apple store and buy direct. Anything that QVC sells would be way overpriced old technology with accompanying junk.

I am happy with Apple products, I have an iPad and an iPhone - but the prices of Apple laptops are IMO outrageous, and they couldn't possibly be that incredibly, spectacularly better that they need to cost very close to $900 for the cheapest, least equipped model. But yeah, if I won the Lotto I'd try one out to see what all the fuss is about. Otherwise...nah. I'm fine with a PC.

It's worth the money to never have to deal with windows again.

Our MacBook Pro was purchased in 2009, and is still working fine.

We just replaced the hard drive and expect to get another 2 or possibly 3 years from it.

We were previously a Dell family and I can't remember any Dell, no matter what its cost, lasting longer than maybe a year and a half before some technician name Larry O'Brien, based in Gary Indiana and whispering in a heavy middle eastern accent would wind up screaming at me because I wasn't executing his commands fast enough after beng on the phone with him for 4 hours and having to use the lavatory for 3 of them but terrified that if I tried to while on hold with Larry I'd have to start all over again.

I've taken the Pro to the Genius Bar ONCE, and as told, FOR FREE, that it was just fine.

DH LOVES the MBP, and that was also a MAJOR step!

I would NEVER try to talk anyone into making the choices that I would make, because I don't know enough, BUT- I would also NEVER use anything but APPLE devices because as little I as understand anything about anything techy, I understand on Apple.

There are also Chromebooks and Chromeboxes that let you do pretty much anything you can do on a Windows or Apple computer for a fraction of the price without having to deal with Windows.

There are people out there who will spend well over a thousand dollars to get a MacBook and then only use it to surf the Internet. For $200 you can get a Chromebook computer that will let you do the same thing.
