I don't just surf the internet, and I run programs that don't work on Chrome.

I personally, would not buy Apple anything.  I can get everything I need or want without paying extra to buy into the culture of Apple.

I would NEVER buy an Apple product from ANY TV shopping channel.  I buy Apple products only from the Apple Store On-Line, or from an Apple Retai Store, or from an Apple Authorized Reseller.  That way, I'm sure of what I'm getting.  I've purchased Apple Care for each Apple product I own.  I would NEVER trust ANY so-called 3rd party service/support provider

Plus if there is a problem (and there rarely is) you can take it back to Apple and they will take care of it. They will even make sure your computer is working properly before you leave the store. They will also transfer your data for you too the new computer. If you are going to buy a new computer you want the newest technology. I bought a MacBook Pro a few months ago and I love it.

@Meowingkitty That statement is so true on ALL their electronics. 10-20 years ago, it wasn't the case...but now they're like a giant "close out" warehouse. And the prices are nothing you can't find elsewhere for less. Even their EZ Pay can be found buying online directly from Bose and Apple, for instance, if someone needed to space out their payments.

This forum has been posting that for years. Unfortunately, it falls on deaf ears.

Just bought one on Friday on QVC.  Why?  because i like easy pay and its cheaper than other places to finance one for 6 months.

Making it an affordable option for me.  I bought the mac book pro for 1299.  i think it sells at store at a cash price of 999.00.  so 300 is a finance charge of 400 give or take.  divide it by 6 months. 66  dollars per month .  finance charge of that 238.00 per month payment.  not great but better than rto or some other places.

I had the Iphone 6 i sold to buy a mac book pro for my new business which will need to go online.  The only other time i use a pc is for streaming and email, facebook.  But when wanting to go online for business i figured i would need something i could invest in long term.  every one i know keeps their macbooks for 5 plus years.  i have Never been happy with a pc.  i have had the hp mini, hp pavilion (ordered from qvc, now my daughters) didnt keep either one a year.  got beats hp pavilion and screen cracked after 3 months.  And the asus transformer shoddily made.  never kept one more than a year.  Hp and windows freezes up.

Today i am on a dell latitude E5500 used from like 2009 refurbished by local computer guy and its great.  The best of all.  that i have ever owned.  But i love IOS.  the fact it doesnt need expensive virus ******, etc.  is fantastic.  And i have heard the graphics are out of this world.  my ipad is great to watch tv on.  and my phone was wonderful.  IOS and apple make THE best processors so if speed and graphics is what you want then go apple.

I am hoping i never have to buy another pc.

except the apple mini for the kids for christmas next year.  i used windows all my life.  And i hate android.  windows is okay but i am ready for something with longevity.

So i think whatever choice you make is up to you but you wont be sorry with the macbook purchase.

I sold cars, mac is like a nissan you can drive it till the wheels fall of

hp is like a chevette, good luck 3 years later

and dell, well i am impressed its a honda.  Nissan makes the best quality cars on the market.  EVER.  other than buick.  so buying an apple is like buying a permanant thing that holds its value.

Resale of a dell or hp is like resale of a pt cruiser.  but resale of macs?  you will get your money and use out of it.  i have researched it now for 10 years, the quality cannot be beat.

One aside, they dont do good on big cell phones.  Iphone 6 plus avoid at all costs.  i was happy however with ipad air, ipad mini and iphone 6.

good luck and happy shopping i hope this helps.

as for reviews, out of 1000 i read i only saw maybe 5-10% negative remarks that were valid.  and no product is 100 percent perfect all the time.

i want an apple car next.   how cool is that?

Well if your credit is shot, then qvc easy pay is really not a bad option.

if you buy a 900 computer at rto or another place where you make payments you would spend 1800-2000 on it.

so its not that bad of a purchase.  and if you finance at apple, they have interest rates too.  probably 15-29% on their credit card.  it evens out.

what i reccommend is that qvc offer one year free apple care, now that is worth the money and the product justification.

your gonna pay more for apple because its THAT good.

Yeah well i called apple for the iphone 6 and got all english speaking fluent super nice folks.  i give them a plus plus for phone customer service.

sent in iphone 6 that powered off and wouldnt come on at all.

of course daughter had a crack on the screen, voiding the warranty but my first call when i spoke to a supervisor told me it didnt matter, send it in.

i got a bill for 129.00 to fix screen, called back and got pissed.

long story short, they replaced the phone.  crack and all for no out of pocket costs.  and if you get phone insurance that replaces your screen, beware, they will mess your phone up.  it wasnt apples fault i think it was the insurance screen replacement not of apple.

A1 customer service.
