My sister is looking for a less expensive alternative to a Fitbit, something slim. I have a Fitbit Charge 2 and I think the face would be too wide for her and she'd prefer something smaller/slimmer, like the Fitbit Alta. She mainly wants it to track her steps, but does not want to wear a pedometer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Black Friday will bring lower prices on the alta 2. Fitbit is releasing new products.

FitBit issues new models every year and many users upgrade from one perfectly good model to a new one with more features. I know that's what I do and if I'm not keeping my older model, I give it away or sell it. She can probably pick up a used FitBit Alta from the Facebook Marketplace. In my area, they're going for anywhere from $30-$130, depending on model. (The original Alta without the heart rate monitor and with no box is going for the lowest price. An Alta 2 with an HR monitor is middle and an Alta 2 in the box is going for the most.)
If she gets a used one, it won't matter if the band is Small or Large. She can go to Amazon and get a knock-off band in the right size and choose from a variety of colors for about $7. I got about 6 different Alta bands for $19 when I was using mine. She needs to make sure the Alta works and comes with a charger cable.

I don't know how lower price you want to get but Amazon has one with the basics for about $30 with 4+ star reviews. I believe it's called LETSCOM. I was thinking on replacing my Fitbit HR2 with it after my screen cracked in less than a year.

Fitbit will replace any defective product in a year you should call their CS. They have replace items such as band and Fitbit. You do not need a receipt they know you have by your phone app.
